It's open 7 days a week unless close for an unforeseen event. Though I've never known them to actually not let anyone go, there's just sometimes not anyone there to give money to, but you can still drive in and walk around. I don't think they have any gates they can close they would keep you from parking and walking around, though the shop and visitor center may be closed
