Great place to bring the family for a snow day! Great snowmobiling here as well when there is fresh snow!

Very beautiful 😍 and easy to do one day trip . Lots of fresh snow and good places to have fun with friends and family and everything is FREE and safe to do .. just buy a one day parking permit for the snow park and park anywhere in parking or road side and enjoy tubing, 🎿.. 2:30 Hrs drive from bayarea and small patch of winding road but manageable. Mostly no need of snow chains but better to keep .small towns in-between the drive for food and gas refill. Many restrooms but not manage well . Lots of places to play with fresh snow , book lesson to learn 🎿 . For snow lovers this is the best one day easy trip .

You can rent shoes and sleds from ski area which may have some fees and play under ski area. . there are lots of free areas where you just park and enjoy in snow . You need your own shoes and sleds if you want to play in those areas and dogs can also have full fun there ..

Technically the sno park is shoveled by the state so it should be good. It is federal shutdown. Also the roads are maintained by CHP so state level.

There's quite a bit of snow from 5 to perhaps 15 feet depending on where you are at the snopark. Bear valley has a 5 foot base. It's very much spring conditions right now, firm and slushy in the afternoon.
