A great place for a simple hike for beginners! And you also learn about the beautiful redwoods as you walk through the trees learn about their wonderful history.

South grove trail was well maintained and was under shade for most of the trail. It’s a loop trail with about 5.5 miles starting from the trailhead. Deep into the woods, the trail is really refreshing when we hiked there early in the morning. Plenty of parking available at the trailhead with rest rooms(non-flushable).

Great trail to walk with limited crowds and see big trees. Much less crowded than the North Grove at Big Trees State Park. Most of the sequoias here are tucked away so you really have to get a good hike to see the bigger trees. The trail maintenance crew was out and I have never seen so many people working on a trail. Trail was immaculate.

Super pretty, good hike for the whole family. Trail we took round trip was @5miles. This is one of my favorite places to go to hike in nature.

Look on a Big Trees map for the few "environmental" campsites. These are walk-in sites (not very far from parking lot for Beaver Creek and South Grove trail heads). I don't think there are any mid-trail or at far end of loop, but I'd check map.
