There was a lake nearby where u could park n swim n picnic tables. Wasn't far is what the park ranger told us.
The river will be cold, maybe try Coyote Creek. You'd have to take a short hike to it. You may have to drive further past Big Trees to find a better spot.
White Pines lake in NOT Arnold (you'll see the sign) is recommended for taking dogs to swim. If you're not keen on swimming in a lake, stay out, it's pretty funky. About 4 miles away. The Stanislaus River is nearby, but it's icy cold and has a good current with lots of rocks. Not exactly what I would consider good for swimming, but great for cooling off. To my knowledge, there are no pools in the campground.
It very beautiful place
