Is there an area for swimming nearby? I've been wanting to visit for a few years but haven't had the vacation time to drive out there from Texas until now.

If you have a dry suit, yes, but with the waves it is better suited for surfing

It's very cold water and it's usually cloudy. They only have about 70 clear days a year.
