The most famous landmark in Reno. The current one standing is the 3rd one. The first one was built to commemorate the completion of the Lincoln Highway in 1926. Reno’s got an interesting history. Recommend everyone to come for a visit.

Famous Arch, my dad was here 80 years ago. I always liked the way he talked about the city of Reno. It was excellent to visit and have such fun. The shops and restaurants are great. Casinos are The Row. Three casinos run into each other under roof. The Peppermill is the 5 star Hotel. The atmosphere is good everywhere. Reno Rocks!

This sign is so sad. I've been here to witness two of the three signs that have been across Virginia Street "The Biggest Little City in the World." This sign has only seen the closing of many casinos and delapitation of an era. Gone are people having fun in the streets. Gone is the smell of delicious food, the sounds of slots dropping coins and the beautiful flashing lights of all the casinos that made downtown Reno for so long. Only to be replaced by homelessness and darkness. The only flashing lights left are of police cars that pull you over to harass you for being downtown. What a shame that you'll never experience the glory of Reno..yeah it's long gone.

A little cute place to take a picture. It just takes me 5 minutes. If you would like to take a picture with yourself, you should come in the early morning or any time when it’s few people on the road.

You bet. See my posts from the work in progress. Actually, as the Yesco team makes further progress it is more than a red to blue change. There have been structural improvements, electrical and cosmetic changes as well. My hope is something more vandal resistant and tamperless. In the past the gold surface was prone to vandalism and and bulbs that could be accessed from the base were stolen. The result of all that was a landmark that looked bad and uncared for to the community and world.

Does anyone else remember the council was taking input from the community on Arch renovations, Costs and Theme a while back? What became of that feedback?
