Ive seen the temp range from mid 30s to mid 70s but we haven't had many cold March and April's in a while I would expect mid 40s at night and 50 to 65 in day I've hiked the AT trail in January in snow and had the best time on my life. In spring a is a great time the leafs r coming out and red bud trees r in full blume along with dog woods it be a excellent time to be hiking!

Temperatures on the blue ridge in March and April can range from the mid 50's to the high 60's maybe low 70's around here, and remember up on the park way can be cooler than the temperature around town. So, check the and dress appropriately. Oh yes, and weather in these mountain can change fast. Eye on the sky!! Enjoy!!

Average temperatures can be misleading. Old Boy Scout saying, " Be prepared." I have been on the parkway when the temp was 20° cooler than around town with a cold wind blowing to boot. You're always wise to have rainproof cold weather gear on hand, with the possible exception of hiking in Arizona in midsummer.

You can definitely do it! The temperatures vary so much in the area you will honestly just have to check the weather a few days before. Typically its around the 40s in late March. But, it could be anywhere from 25 to 75. March is also a snowy month so dont rule that out either. If I were you, I'd go in late April. It will be warmer and you'll be seeing daffodils instead of snowflakes.

It's wonderful during Spring. Best time to go hiking. Like someone said, be sure and do layers. Our weather is unpredictable and you are always needing to be prepared. I think that is a perfect time to hike the trails.

Definitely doable. Just be prepared with light layers and make sure you bring a jacket/sweatshirt.

Jerry Semrod | Jan 18, 2018

Absolutely doable!! Check the forecast, but always do layers.

Around 60s is norm, 30s to 40s ar night. Weather can change quickly so be prepared for it. Been caught in a cold rain more than once when they weren't calling for it.
