There are some great sites a very short distance off of the bald on the Appalachian trail. Just inside the tree line. Multiple sources online say that they do not recommend camping on top of the bald. Especially with ant chance of a storm. Whether you decide to camp on the bald or on the AT, the sites are all first come first serve. Good luck!
Yes. Most camp at the top of the mountain in the field. The hike from where you can park to the top is .4 mile. Also, there are no facilities/water, so plan accordingly.
Yes but there is plenty of space. Just make sure you pack in water and get up there early so you can watch the sunset.
