We got lucky and were able to purchase tickets on site. I spoke with one of the employees and they said Summer can get busy and tickets should be purchased in advance. Long drive if you can't get a tour.
We bought tickets on site.
We just walked up and purchased about 30 min early. It did however fill up quickly after that, online reservations could be a good idea, if not there are thing to explore on the grounds while you wait...a must see

We bought tickets when we got there. It was incredibly fun, and I learned a lot!
My son loved it so much, I have been there twice within 5 months. Both times just walked up and got tickets.
We bought our tickets when we got there, but that was a weekday. If you go on a weekend, i suggest booking online. Not sure what hours are on Sundays.
