The hike back up was a little grueling (I’m somewhat out of shape 30 year old). But worth it for the view. Spent about 50 minutes in total going down, pictures, and coming back up. It was also pouring rain which probably didn’t help.

An easy trail to do. The soothing sounds of water is very relaxing. Enjoy the beauty of nature and cool down in this waterfall

Dark Hollow Falls is one of my favorite waterfall hikes in the Shenandoah national park. I recommend this hike for anyone looking for a medium to rigorous hike. The hike down to the falls is easy, getting back to your vehicle however is a steep climb. I recommend this trail during the week, and very very early during the weekend. Dark Hollow is a very popular waterfall and the parking and trail will fill up quickly with tourists.

Spectacular views and even saw people fishing near the falls for brook trout. The trail is kind of steep going up or down so give yourself time.

No, you can't.. wish I could post the screenshot I took about pets in Shenandoah National Park. It lists the trails where pets aren't allowed, and Dark Hollow is one of them. Look on the park website.

Can a small stroller be taken on the hike?

Can you? Yes. Should you? No. It's not paved and there are lots of spots where you'd need to carry the stroller - especially on the way back up.

is there a spot there to get married?

Maybe down by the second falls, but it's quite a hike to get down there... worse coming back up. Not something you'd do in a bridal gown! 😀 If you are all hikers in good shape, it might work for a non-traditional wedding. There is a bridge at the bottom, right in front of the second falls. Also an access road, but it might be just for park rangers. Good luck with your wedding plans! 😊
