I'm glad I didn't let all the negative reviews here keep me from visiting Sol Duc Hot Springs and staying at the resort. I was really nervous. We just got home from a wonderful 2 night stay. It was the perfect time of year to go being early in the season and not crowded with families/ children mid-week. Since we each have special diets (one of us is vegan and one is gluten free), we stayed in a kitchen cabin and brought our own food from home. We had a sufficient kitchen to make some basic meals for ourselves for our dietary needs and didn't have to deal with the limited options in the restaurant. The cabins are small and crowded with oversized furniture, but they were comfortable and clean enough, if a bit dated and needing some elbow grease. We would've sat outside on the porch bench if it had been warmer. The cabins could use more places to hang things like wet towels/ bathing suits, but maybe people leave that stuff out to dry on the porch railings in warmer months. We enjoyed the pools several times during our stay and they seemed adequately clean. As registered guests with a special colored wristband, we had no trouble using the pools whenever we wanted during the scheduled hours. We met and talked to a couple interesting people during our soaking, which I always love to do. We both slept like the dead each night after soaking in the pools. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly, helpful, and pleasant. I will absolutely be back someday, but would probably avoid coming in the height of summer tourist season.

Arrived at the hot springs at 4pm on a weekend and it was very crowded. I would recommend going in the early morning to avoid crowds. It did not seem like they are limiting the number of people per session. We were able to walk in without making any reservation. The hot spring itself has a few bugs in the water but otherwise clean. There is one big hot spring pool, and two smaller ones. We only stayed in the biggest pool for 20 minutes since it was getting too crowded and we had to head to our campsite to set up. The bathroom has locker cabinets but no locks provided, if you bring your own lock you can secure your valuables in there. The floor is kind of gross after a full day of visitors walking in and out so bring some shower sandals. The showers have hot water. Bring your own soap, shampoo, towels etc. The bathroom is small so maybe leave the hot spring early if you’re planning to use the showers, otherwise you might have to wait in a long line.

We arrived for a day trip to Sol Duc Hot Springs. In previous visits we arrived before noon and enjoyed the day using the hot springs. Unfortunately, after verifying online that they were open, we drove 2.5 hours to get to the resort, only to be told the rules had changed and we could pick a time to use the hot pools for 1.5 hours per session. There was no notification of this online. I understand the reason for the change but to be fair a notification on the website would be extremely helpful. To be honest we would not have made the trip for 1.5 hours, as this was the purpose of our trip. When i asked about the reason it was not advertised properly, I was told that the resort could not add this information and it was up to the Parks to do this.

The hot springs was a relaxing experience. I recommend grabbing a room. A day trip may be difficult because it's pretty far from everywhere and the hot spring makes you sleepy. Best part of the resort is not the hot springs though. Their Elk Burger is delicious. lt was so good that I forgot to even take a picture for the review. I never thought that elk could taste better than beef. Go for the hot springs but stay for the elk burger.

I think so. The resort doesn't have lots of stuff for kids like water slide or anything. The big unheated pool is nice and the hot springs are unique. What makes them both special is the surrounding scenery. What also makes the place special is that the trails around the resort are pretty easy and are gorgeous. Take a hike down to Sol Duc Falls and your kids will probably be floored. The whole trail feels like a home through Middle Earth. Is otherworldly.
Yes you can
Yes, $18 for adults for a 1.5 hour time slot, no more "day passes"
April 16th
Their website says October 28th is their last day and that they'll reopen March 23rd.
Sol Duc hot springs is a resort. You can hike to the Olympic National hot springs, which is nearby. It is 11 miles one way.
Lovers Lane is the most picturesque part of the trail, like something out of a fairy tale.
No reservation needed when we went a few weeks ago. They had 2 hour windows with a half hour in between each session. Different wrist band colors for each session.
If you are staying at the cabins at the sol duc resort. You do not need a food locker. You are able to bring your cooler inside the cabin at no extra charge and their is food available at the resort as well. With a small selection in the gift shop. Hope this helps.
Yes! They are open to the public, I would call and ask for their session times, so you can get your full 90 minutes of soaking and get your money's worth plus it includes a towel rental.
No reservations. There are time slots - 1 1/2 hours each starting at 8 am with a 30 min break for cleaning in between. So, every 2 hours. Each slot is $15 for adults - less for seniors and children. It may change during the peak season.
Check out the website or call. And I'm sure they can help you better than me guessing.
We walked in and paid without staying there last week, I’m assuming it’s the same. They do have limited time slots.
Reservation system. Max 100ppl (up from 50 recently) for 90min session. I think you can only reserve in-person.
You need to talk to the staff @ the lodge. They will tell you if there is tickets or a waitlist. I would go and ask when you get there. Enjoy.
One cabin should be fine
Take a wild guess.
Yes. Dogs must be on leash though.
Yes. The hotsping is like $15 for the day but starting at like 6pm it changes to $9 or something along those lines

There is a national park fee at the entrance before you reach sol duc. If you are going to park and day-use hike there is no fee, but if you want to enter the pool you will have to pay.
They do have RV sites. My parents stayed in one and said they are $44 a night.
Springtime. They usually have an opening date on the website by February or March.
They only book through their online site. You should probably check there.
