I have absolutely loved living at The Maxwell! This property is so beautiful and the management has been phenomenal so far! The new managers Joy and Terran are so professional and have taken care of all of concerns in a timely manner. And the leasing consultant Kara is super sweet and helpful! Highly recommend these apartments!

FAR FROM LUXURY!!!! Let me start off first by saying the area and location of these apartments might be the best thing about living here. It is located in the heart of lots of shopping centers, restaurants, and recreational activities making it very convenient. The renovated apartments are also nice, spacious and affordable. However, the walls are thin and you can hear everything the people are saying and doing around you. The tenants above me sound like they are bowling all day with the persistent dropping of things and their dog running laps. You can also hear the constant traffic of people in the stairwell coming and going. If your a light sleeper, don’t expect to get much sleep living here. The constant littering of trash in the stairwell is disgusting! I walked out my apartment today to a bag of spilled popcorn all over the steps, empty chip bags, and gummy worms sprinkled everywhere. Im embarrassed to have company come visit me and see the mess people leave outside in the stairwell walkway. Not to mention, the shootout that occurred this week in the parking lot around 8:00pm! Cars with bullet holes, shell casings left on the ground, and police canvassing trying to get answers due to the lack of surveillance and cameras in the neighborhood. I don’t feel safe living here, I never leave my apartment without my firearm. The definition of luxury is the state of great comfort and extravagant living which is nowhere near what The Maxwell at Highland Creek offers despite what they advertise. I feel like I’m back living in a college campus dorm with grown adults who lack the respect for the people who live around them. Think twice before you sign a lease here.

They do nothing about noise complaints. You are better off spending money and transferring into another apartment. Everyone deserves peace in their own home, but that ended for me about a month ago. I have to sleep with headphones at night now to drown out my neighbors.

I’m not sure whether the staff is unresponsive or if there’s only 2 people that work in the office. I had always liked this area and wanted to live in this complex, plus it was close to my job, so I was patient. I try not to assume I know how other people’s jobs work, but I just don’t understand why it took over a month to process an application. Olivia was super helpful during the application process; however, after I applied, it took 31 days on to the day for them to “run my application” and give me a decision, which is hilarious because they stress the fact that the apartments go fast. I had to physically go up there THREE different times just about the application because they don’t answer the phone. The first time (after calling a number of times and leaving a message), I went to change the apartment on the application and the manager was able to switch it (partially because they hadn’t even ran the initial application) and told me that she simply had to review it and I should hear something the following week. It had been days, so I tried calling again and did not receive a response, so I went up there once again and Olivia told me that her manager was out and once she returned on whichever day, she just had to, once again, review the application. It had been at least another week since the date she gave me that her manager returned, so I tried calling a few times again and again, leaving my information for a return call that was never returned, forcing me to go there once AGAIN, only to have Olivia tell me that “hEr mAnAgEr jUsT hAs To rEvIeW iT”. Please keep in mind that it’s approaching my move in day. Finally after the 29th day, I said forget about it, only to receive a decision on the 31st day that my application was “denied”, only to find out they leased the apartment to someone else because “tHeY gO sO fAsT”. Worst $250 I’ve ever spent and I want a refund. I encourage everyone to spend their money at a Cortland property - I received a decision AND signed my lease the same day I applied. Good day.
