The park is beautifully maintained with lots of picnic tables placed far enough away from each other to have a nice time. I noticed Sikhs seem to feel very comfortable there and there were many families picnicking together. The Arch is super impressive to stand under and the people watching is fabulous!

It’s interesting walking in the park, seeing both Canada and US flags and residents. The park is well maintained with pretty flowers, lawn, trees, ocean view and border gate. Early spring flowers are blooming here. We can also see cars waiting in line to enter or exit. Buy discovery pass (Washington state park pass daily $10, annual $30) at the stand.

We went during COVID. The Google directions here were dumb because it sent us up the truck crossing to Canada them back down. Once we figured out what the deal was, we found plenty of parking and public restrooms. Good historical interpretative signs. Nice views for a gray fall day. Always fun to step into the Canada side for pictures. The Canada side of the park was closed which was disappointing. Absolutely recommend for anyone that has time.

This park is outstanding and fantastic. Its location is between the U.S. and Canada, which makes it even more enjoyable. The parking lots require Discovery Pass, and there are clean restrooms and border guards nearby. To be more specific, the park itself is vast and peaceful for a picnic or family-gathering events.

Yes
You can also Google the phone number for the CBP and call them for a human answer. 😉
Yes but you both have to bring all the documents and/or passport, ID, etc that you would use if you were entering the country, WHICH GRANTED THE VISA. In some situations groups have to hang out on the sides of the ditch on 0 Ave. To get the 'answer of the day' ask the RCMP or CBSA officers that are patrolling 0 Ave.
Americans do not need any ID to enter the park. If you are meeting a Canadian who gives you anything to take back, you are required to declare it with customs, who might ask for ID. You also have to pay for parking, either by displaying your state parks pass or by paying separately, unless you park on the side of the road outside the park. There is no time limit during the day, but the park closes at night, and overnight camping is not permitted. Day-use tents are allowed on the eastern side of the park. There is usually a row of signs saying where the line for tents is.
@Ray Wohlford Children like 11 or 12 do not have a student or photo ID. I don’t know why you don’t know this
If your Canadian / American bring your expired passport, citizenship, driver's license etc. The agents just want proof your living in Canada / United States. You can meet with family / friends / partners and will be required to show your documents when returning.
Thanks for the information :)
Yes, Washington side only. Canadians must have their passport to cross at the road that bumps up against the park due to the people living there being jerks. But it's $10/day or $30/year for parking on the US side. Canadians must park somewhere on the roads near by and walk. The Canadian half of the park is still not open.
You can do it if you go walking from Blaine or near parking. The Arch is located before the Canadian border control. If you pass the main street you will be enforced to cross the border or return to States. But, crossing the American border control before tour return to States. I recommend you to check Google Maps to understand your situation. Best choice, park the car no far away from the main street (I5) and walk around the park.
No. But at this moment because of the COVID, Canadian side can't go in
This is the Peace Arch PARK. Not border crossing. If you mean within the park a COVID test is not needed, all you need is some proof of citizenship. My mom forgot hers and she was stuck there for 2 hours, don't make that mistake.
As long as you have a passport
No. You are going to be in an international park. You just have to have proof of Canadian Citizenship
Yes, you can enter from Canada.
NO! Do NOT listen to these people! They DON’T! If they don’t have a passport a birth certificate will do as well, I went with my birth certificate and there was no problem.
If you are staying on the US side and are a US citizen you won't need any ID
Canadians can find parking along Zero avenue and walk across the ditch into the park, they just need to have proof of citizenship to get back in, Canadian police check id.
You can, though important to note: the BC gov just implemented a new $575 fine for anyone travelling outside their health region for non-essential travel. If you don't reside in the Fraser Health or Coastal Health region you could get hit with a fine.
Yes. The park continues to be popular, mostly families, a few dogs.
Absolutely! On Google maps however if you are coming from Canada DO NOT enter in the GPS Peace Arch Historical State Park, it will try to take you THROUGH the border! Put in 171 street and 0 Ave. Trust me, I once put in the park and that was a really horrible complicated day (crying involved.)
