I truly hate going to the hardware store because I typically know little to nothing about what it is I'm trying to do and what I need. I went to Woodstock Ace Hardware & Garden twice this weekend, just because I happened to be nearby. Both times, I was approached immediately by employees offering to help. Both times, because of their help, I was able to quickly get what I needed. I then wandered around the store and found that they have a little bit of everything and it's not at all intimidating. I eavesdropped on a conversation between what was obviously a regular customer and an employee while they discussed pros and cons of different products, and it all just felt exactly like a neighborhood hardware store should feel! In the future, I will happily drive 20 minutes out of my way to come here so that I don't feel overwhelmed and stupid.

My husband and I love this location. Best people in town. If they don't have what you need in stock, they can usually get it.

I just moved to the area three weeks ago and have been to this store 8-10 times now, because my new home needs lots of work. I have entertained the thought almost every time to go to my old neighborhood where the people that worked at the store were friendly/helpful. I don't know much about tools and how to do things, so I have a tendency to ask questions and need more help than most people that go to a hardware store. I've given this store plenty of chances to do better and am bummed that this hardware store is in my neighborhood. I only decided to write this review, because my husband came home from work and said the same sentiments to me so I know it isn't just me that feels this way.
