For a store that built their brand on "You can do it. We can help." the customer service for helping me buy two pieces of wood to replace some damaged pieces was extremely poor and lacking. The employee was visibly put out when I asked for help, and when I explained what I was trying to do I was met with all the things I was doing wrong and couldn't do and what they couldn't do to help me, instead of talking things through to find a great solution. When I asked what they can help with, they got huffy and repeated all the things I shouldn't be doing, so I let them know if they can't help me I can go someplace else. The person looked at me, gave me a wave and said "okay bye." Off to Lowe's I go.

Zero Stars. Unbelievably poor customer service. I ordered a Makita lawn mower twice. The first time the wrong item arrived. The second time the lawn mower was smashed. It was not even remotely packaged correctly. The initial shipment shown was missing all four batteries, any instruction manual, and the grass catcher. The rear wheel is severely bent. The height adjustment arm (next to the rear wheel) was smashed into the deck leaving a 1/16 to 1/8 inch gouge. After multiple calls to Home Depot they refuse to come get the lawn mower and Home Depot will not allow a return to the store (I reluctantly offered to do just that). I am now forced to dispute with my credit card.

I’m still and have been standing here attempting to get help for most of an hour and a half. When I was finally helped the guy from the hose and coupling section told me his friend would be better suited to help me. Well he took me to said friend and we stood there and watched him help someone for about 10, minutes before he just handed me my stuff and said I when he’s done ask him. He literally did nothing to help me, provided no feedback just walked me to his friend. Sat there silent for a couple minutes than walked away. Well the friend who was supposed to help me has no left to continue helping the other customer which has left me now just in a different section but with 0 questions answered and time still ticking on by. This is by far the worst I’ve ever been treated in a Home Depot.

Went in for a few small items and I do appreciate their military discount. I noticed that only one actual cashier working while they had numerous of self checkout stands open. I hate that. I prefer to checkout while interacting with a real live individual. Sometimes, just their smile makes my day. I realize several stores are doing the same since this appears to be the new business model, but if I learned anything from the recent covid experience is that human contact is crucial.
