What a historical gem. The ambience is an old world feeling, courteous doormen, beautiful decor and an onsite restaurant with a diverse menu. We also ordered local pizza from Minsky's Pizza which was absolutely delicious.. The rooms are meticulously clean and comfortable. What a wonderful stay in the heart of downtown Kansas City. Highly recommend!

The decor was unique. You can definitely see the hotel is from a Era long forgotten. The look and functions of the mechanics definitely appear to be in working order, clean and well taken care of. Customers seemed happy, I am a chauffeur so I did not see rooms or stay. However, Staff was very helpful in me contacting my clients.

This hotel is beautiful, its staff friendly, and its location great. I've stayed here twice now and plan to stay again as often as I can. The rooms have a classic look and are immaculately clean. The building has an old soulful feel to it. During my most recent stay, I presented a tax exemption document to the front desk at checkout time. No hotel likes dealing with these, but Charlotte was patient and thorough in seeing it through, multitasking by helping other guests while she adjusted my bill. I could not be more pleased with my experience.

My boyfriend and I spent a weekend here for our Anniversary. It was our first stay here and it was like a dream. The hotel surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to the King Suite. The on-site restaurant was cozy, delicious, and had wonderful staff. I loved the deep tub in the room along with the insanely comfortable bed. The only negative things were that the water took a very long time to switch from cold to hot and (what I'm assuming was the HVAC) would kick on every hour or so and it was very loud and obnoxious. Also, I'm going to have to find out what pillows they use because I can't live without them now ha ha.

I'm sure they are. They are part of the Marriott chain, I believe. Check out their website.
It seems to accept families just fine, but I would not call it a fun family atmosphere. It's a comfortable luxury hotel. It has a very adult aesthetic.
Check-in officially starts at 4:00pm, but we always will accommodate early check-in requests if the room is ready prior to that time.
Avoid rooms directly over the Chaz restaurant patio. The cast iron tables and chairs make a terrible noise when moved around. Especially annoying at midnight.
My experience with the Raphael is that they are very accommodating people. If you will contact them I am sure they will be glad to work with you on dinner specials
