I went to SSA in Everett (Wednesday at 10.40 am) after being treated poorly in Lynwood to changed name. Completed in less than 30 minutes. The security guard is amazing. The lady who assisted me, Candy (?) something similar was very professional and helpful. Thank you.

Arrived at 8:50 am no appointment. Door opened at around 9:00. Security officer opened doors and was very helpful with all of around the 12 of us waiting. Logged in on entry manually per instructions. Within 10 minutes I was prompted to a window were I was once again greeted by a friendly and helpful person. Then waited for 25 minutes for my interview. Once again another friendly employee. No more return needed. All completed within an hour. Awesome employee's. Glad it's done however I admit I put it off for so long because of stories that don't exist.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Absolutely extremely rude, hung up on my when I was trying to explain my frustrations (nicely) that they had given me the wrong information 4 times. Could have at least some sympathy to how hard it has been to even get through to a person, spent over an hour on the phone with them, only for some lady to hang up on me. This has literally been the worst experience that I have ever had with them, thanks to USPS losing my new social security card.

Just waited an hour on the phone to speak to someone about scheduling an appointment. If you Google how to make an appointment, it tells you to call the 1-800 number, OR to call the local office. I called this one and the Lynnwood location, and both are giving me a busy signal. No option to even hold. So I called the general number, waited on hold for an hour and told the lady I wish to schedule. She said I HAVE to call local to make an appointment. When the website clearly says I can get one scheduled both ways. And then I told her no one answered locally and she still transferred me. I'm fighting identity fraud and I need to replace ss card. How will I get through to them? I can't do it online because my credit has a fraud alert placed. Worst establishment ever!

You can try going to their website to schedule an appointment, however, if you have the time, it is best to show up in person at a local office. Here you will be able to have any questions answered and a printout of your current progress. Write down whatever questions you may have before your appointment, so you receive the answers you want. If the SSA clerk feels like you are wasting their time, they are going to make your application process that much more frustrating. Remember, you can always bring someone with you to an appointment /meeting.
I want to start my paperwork for social security
No you can usually go to SSA web site, register, then use the online features to change your bank. Some people cannot do that if SSA has put a block for some reason. In that case you would need to go to a SSA office.
I've gotten award letters with no problem at all. You just have to take a number and wait for your turn.
What does your question pertain to?
I agree with the previous answers. I will add that you will receive back pay from the first day you submit an application. So even though the process can take time, your son will eventually get all money he is entitled to.
You shouldn't have to pay for a replacement card sweetie..I'm just saying there's a lot of scammers. Local office not open Friday-Sunday and they do check your bags- like the airport so go on off times and beware..if homeless or from the jail recently, stereo-typed and I was asked to leave just for volunteering to be a personal rep for my now ex-fiancee..who went in the day before w/o me to just get me in trouble. I gave him every thing and he took it and kicked me to the curb..not a day goes by that I don't wonder why..be careful and show up unexpectedly in person. Usually u find out ur gut instinct is right but make sure to double check..hate gossip. Don't pay or play the greed for money.. but be careful with what money u do earn..u deserve to use it yourself and take care of yourself first, then others. God bless you and your family! Take care 😏
Go to the Snohomish county health department or their website and apply for them.
I've been waighting for my back pay for over a year they owed me from 2014abot 40grand they have sent me a check for1200.$and another for 2000. And said the third check is the final check so wn i finally receive this in the mail I'll let u all no if they pay u all that's owed to u .in back pay ..
Can you elaborate? Like apply for a number or benefits on a number already assigned? Those would be two different things but I believe you can start the process of both those things in office, assuming you bring the right documentation and know your personal information well enough for which will inquire😁
You can do it by mail
This just happend to me today. Earlier in the day i was contacted by another male asking for the last 4 of my ssc number. My name and my zipcode then i received the voicemail? Should I contact ssc anyway??
There are several ways you can dismiss a claim
They send you stuff in the mail, unless you have a prescheduled phone appointment with them, they will never contact you by phone.
They only automatically deposit my check
Yes
No but it helps to.. I recently went in to get social security cards for my family . I did the application online and made an appointment so I could be in & out. Highly recommend doing that. If you go to the website you may be able to do a portion of the info online so it’s quicker if not making an appointment will be helpful to you.
You can phone to them direct and make an appointment this will reduce your waiting time or you can just go without appointment but you need to have enough time sometimes it may be faster depending on the number of people
Mary you are probably going to want to look for answers to your questions somewhere other than here. The social security administration is not going to monitor this & I doubt give you answers to your questions here. You are probably going to want to seek legal advice from an attorney that specializes in these areas.
Go with proof of ID and address. You may have to make a appointment. You can always call for assistance and directions for anything.
I would call social security to find out what is going on. You can't even go in the office to get replacement social security cards, so I would call and see what's going on so that if they need you to come in they can set an appt or maybe they are doing it over the phone at this point. They have definitely made things extremely challenging.
ya everything is just that was not able to speak with anybody still..
You have to do everything online now...or if they feel it's an "emergency" than they'll set up an appointment with you if the feel it's "important enough" other than that it's all online and over the phone...
When inwas there it was closed and had to call them. They walked me through and a case worker called me back a few days later. They asked fir day of death, his ssn, when and where we got married.....things like that. Come to find out that i am not eligible for a dime. Good luck
If you live in Everett send it to Everett social security office. You can can the office near you and to their office. With your ID not a copy.
Yes
Call the national number to report and schedule an appointment for benefits. Condolences to you!
I don't work there but I'm going to say yes to that it said Department of it's DOL Department of Licensing that's the state so that's Federal federal and state work together on it and I think you can I think you can do that give it a try but call and make a reservation don't go down there and sit for hours waiting for waiting to see somebody
Yes you can and that's the best way to do it either that or if you go in you'll be sitting there for two or three hours because it's a it's on the number system but if you have an appointment you get right in that's the way to go good luck
I have no idea I suppose you have to go get a new driver's license first and then that's what I'm supposed to carry number if you're already married you sure to take your certificate with you
Walk in they are open M, T, T, F 9-4 and Wed 9-12
No clue suggest you call them back or go to the office in person.
You aren't stupid! I would call in or go in. It takes 1-2hrs to get seen in the office but it might be best.
I've tried calling multiple times. Good luck! The number online takes you to a national line. If you go in and talk to someone, they might give you a phone number.
I would ignore emails and phone calls that say they're from the SSA. They are a scam. SSA will only contact you in the first instance by mail. In their letter, they might tell you they will call on a date and time certain.
Wait till you go personally to Social Security I don't trust the Internet that much in this situations..could be wrong too
You need to call
You can also sign up online and request one through website or app. That way you don't have to wait in person.
Is there another relative you trust completely? Also, like Sharon said, there are groups that handle this for a very low cost. Try contacting your local ARC for more information, such as ARC of Snohomish County
Do it online. They'll want to talk to you eventually, too, when first applying
We need more information. Is it SSI or SSDI? The best thing to do is the call or go to https://www.ssa.gov/planners/disability/family.html
I think you can request one on your own as a minor by going to the SS office w/your birth cert and state ID. Best to stop by the SSA and ask them tho.
You should contact SHIBA from the WA State Insurance Commissioner's office. Here's the contact info: https://www.insurance.wa.gov/contact-shiba
There are forms online. I've got a copy. Look up W-4V voluntary withholding request. You can withhold 7%, 10%, 12% or 22%. The form advises you to mail it to your local office Here is a link to the form https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-w-4-v You should not have to withhold on social security unless your total income from all sources exceeds, I think, $30,000+. There are proposals in Congress to increase this income limit
You have to go in person to schedule an appointment
Just your I'd card or passport they do not accept expired ids damaged ids ir temp ids
I'm not exactly sure you would have to go in or call and talk to someone
No you will not walk out with a card you will walk out with a receipt you will receive your card within 7 to 10 business days
You can call the office and cancel your claim or just not go to your appt then they will dismiss it
But my wife it's not a us citizen
SSA is a federal entity and SSD & SSI benefits are federal programs. Moving states has no effect on them. So all she has to do is file an address change. It can be done at her new local office or online. I wouldn't recommend calling in. Even on the best of days their phone systems have hrs long wait times and no guarantee you'll reach someone able to help w/your specific issue. It's unlikely there will be any delay in her benefits, as most ppl recieve them as a direct deposit to their bank account, and not an actual mailed check.
Contact Social Security online, or by phone or at the office. They will tell you w hat documents you need, and the process can take a few months. The good news is that you will receive back pay from the day you first apply. By the way, social security disability is different from SSI, but they can explain all that.
I don't think so. You can get your annual income history (your income history) by going online to SSA.gov
It depends. If you always receive your check on the 1st and since the 1st is a federal holiday, you should get your check on the 31st. Since it's all electronic, you'll see the transfer on the 31st if it's normally the 1st
State issued identification , & maybe a utility bill in your name & current address .That should be it .
I believe so, yes. Always best to double check that w/SSA or your financial manager tho.
That is a pretty complex question only the SSA will be able to answer for you with any real accuracy. I'd recommend visiting them @3809 Broadway, and taking a number. Going midweek at midday you'll wait the least amount of time. Should take about an hour. I wouldn't try calling, as it's exceedingly tough to get questions answered over the phone, or even to get a rep on the line. Stopping by will be the best way to get your questioned answered accurately and in detail.
You can also get replacement cards online, in some cases. Go to ssa.gov click sign in click my social security. After creating account and getting loged in click replacement documents. Getting a replacement card is a new feature. You may end up having to visit an office if you are unable to login
It can take up to 3 months. Do a Google search "how to enroll for social security benefits". Truth is you may be able to do most of the work at ssa.gov the online system is waiting to get you enrolled.
Nope
Depends on your preference, walk in patrons can wait 30 min to 3 hours. If you call early in the day you may be on hold only 45 minutes. However, phone calls have limited information. In person visits can get into your record and give you specifics. If you can physically handle the trip - go in person.
You HAVE to go there, check in, and take a number. Arrive early in day for shorter wait. No advanced appointments accepted.
Call the 1 800 # sorry I don't have it handy, but you can get it on their website. I believe it's social security.gov
I would imagine you call and give them the details and see where they may guide you next?
I understand SSA no longer provides this info. You will have get it through their web site. SocialSecurity.gov
Im not sure how you would find it,but you can get a replacement if he has had one or apply for a new card. You will need all documents that the SSA asks for in order to obtain one. I would advise that you call them first and ask questions, for they can be extremely complicated.
You will have to file and application for disability. You can find most answers to your questions on the ssa.gov website.
