Want to share my experience with Piedmont post move out and ask if others had have also faced the same. I had to vacate my unit at Piedmont apartments on Feb 28 night because of a damage in the roof that resulted in heavy water logging inside my unit. Piedmont advised me to shift immediately to a hotel as the unit was deemed unsafe for residency. Assistance from Piedmont was good initially but then they stopped the communication. I have been waiting for nearly 50 days to get the proper documents to get my claim approved with my renters insurance company so that I could get the reimbursement for the money I spent toward hotel-stay and other miscellaneous items. It's a big amount for me. I really don't know what's stopping Piedmont to share the documents which they MUST do. In case my renters insurance company refuses to approve my claim as it's near to 2 months since the date the incident happened, will Piedmont cover all the expenses? Why does Piedmont treat their residents like this? Is customer satisfaction not important for them? They either don't reply to emails or don't attend the phone calls. It seems to be a fraud to me and I sometimes feel that I should complain to Police for this kind of misconduct, but then hold myself back thinking I should give them some more time. I seriously want to know what's going on with my case?

Good location. Close to crossroads mall, library, restaurants etc... Spacious between the buildings. We have lived here for more than 5 years. Please remember that apartments and the appliances in it are old and that has high probability of breaking down any time. So, please plan and work towards tackling your move out expenses right from the time you move in. When we moved out, the damages alone were charged at more than $1000, out of which a couple (~25%) that i can admit as genuine damage caused by us though being felt like overcharged. Few learnings and key takeaways. During Move-In: Take complete video of the apartment and make sure you have this on record. Just a notation on move-in inspection sheet may not be sufficient. During stay: When you face any issue, make sure you document the damages, time taken to resolve, and what was the condition after resolution. If not, you can expect some of them counted towards you during your move-out. When you face major issues like water leak from the roof, kind of, ensure that you escalate it beyond leasing office & maintenance staff and have the damages caused on the record. When your maintenance issues in kitchen or washer/dryer area are addressed, chances of causing damages to cupboards or counters. Ensure recording that and sending it out to them. During Move-out: DONT STRESS OUT MUCH ON CLEANING. Expect you to be charged at (Apartment cleaning - Heavy) category. It will only be a waste of effort to try to clean it by yourself.

I have only lived here for a short while but my experience with the leasing office and property has been amazing so far. I cannot give Elizabeth enough thanks for helping me get moved in very quickly. She was so sweet and helpful through the entire process. The unit I have is amazing as well, it's roomy enough for my dog to run around and play, the light through the HUGE sliding glass door in the living room is amazing, the bedroom has a great walking in closet and is roomy enough for my king bed, 2 nightstands and a dresser (and still looks empty!), and my kitchen is gorgeous. I even have a small fenced yard! Great location close to food, shopping and public transit. This community feels more like a neighborhood than anywhere I have ever lived, in just about 2 weeks I've met all the neighbors directly around me and more as I am walking around the grounds. Everyone I have met is so friendly and everyone seems to already know each other, I love that! Love it here already!

It was great being here, lived one year at Piedmont. Very live place with all amenities nearby. Rent is too high not worth and apartments are old. Faced difficulties such as roaches and long wait for service done. We adjusted one month while upgrading pipeline for the water supply of whole building. Office administration was good and staffs ware friendly.
