I have a hard time believing all of these positive reviews are for the CPA firm I've been working with. For months I was the one following up with them, and had a hard time getting responses. They acknowledged they filed my taxes incorrectly, costing me double in fines from the IRS. Cheyenne was initially very kind and helpful, but abruptly stopped answeing my emails after promising to "sort out the mistake." The conversations I had with Jay himself dripped with condescension and arrogance. I'd have had more respect for them if they had just openly admitted to running a scam :/

A parent is not required to live with their child to qualify as a dependent. The IRS has an interactive assistant which can help you determine whether or not your parent qualifies as a dependent at this link.https://www.irs.gov/help/ita/whom-may-i-claim-as-a-dependent . We will certainly be glad to help with any tax problems or tax return preparation if you still have questions. Please call (713) 520-0010 to schedule a consultation.
Yes. In fact, you don't even have to live there. Also, if your business is an LLC or a Corporation etc. registered in one state and doing business in another state, you may need to register your business in the other state to allow your "foreign" company to do business there. Also, you may have to file franchise, employment or other taxes in the other state depending on your circumstances, ie. having an office, employees, assets, locally taxable sales etc. in the other state.
