Been here since I was a kid. We came here to be teenagers in the 70's and 80's...It's one of the best kept secrets in Seattle.

Entering Carkeek Park from this end gateways you into the most wilderness part of large Carkeek Park. Several spur trail branch off from this main one which continues all the way down the creek to the more developed area. I took more than one early evening walk here and at times would not have known I hiked through a city. Each time I felt refreshed. The downside consists of poor trailhead and trail maintenance, odorous streams, and litter strewn about by unofficial long-term campers.

Nice, quiet trail. Not too busy on a Wednesday afternoon. A bit muddy but worth the hike. Lots of streams and water as well as beautiful foliage. Trail led right to the beach which was nice.

Nice trail leading to Carkeek park. Be mindful of falling trees, went through the clear trail, and about an hour later on the way out a huge tree had fallen across the trail.

The main/pipeline trail is very wide. Mt bikes on the smaller trails might spook the doggies, so stay alert.
