Such a very interesting museum with lots of information on both world wars. If I was local, I'd be back often to explore the entire facility! We went to kill some time before going to the airport and they even offered to store our luggage in a locked room! So helpful and I highly recommend this as a day trip or as a place to explore! Perfect for any history/space/plane junkie, and I could see any child be absolutely amazed by everything there is to see and learn.

I absolutely recommend this place. If you're planning on visiting the museum be ready to spend at least 3 hours but if you can make it a day trip it will be so worth it. The history not only behind the airplanes but also the history and the life story of those who made it happen it's so amazing you can also find a lot of astronomy and space information. Price 4/5 $25 per person. No student discount. Place 5/5 Service 5/5 Time 3 or more hours.

This is an amazing museum! There is a lot to see.... the Space area is over a bridge on the other side of the road so don't miss that incredible exhibit! The Apollo exhibit is fantastic. We really enjoyed the war planes area as well. It's a great wealth of information and artifacts. We also came for Yuri's Night which was a super fun space party!!! Also, don't miss the gift shop! I got a bunch of fun things in there, including the little comet plush I did the photo shoot with. There is even Henry merchandise that matches the big Henry mural outside! What a great museum!!

I came in on the first Thursday of the month, a free day for everyone. This museum is a must-to-go place for those into aircraft and spaceships. You have a chance to get into these aircraft and enjoy your journey along with the museum. You better visit this museum more than once to grasp the knowledge fully. I highly recommend it to anyone

For the moderately interested, a day, if you are an aviation buff, allow as much as 2 days as there is so much to take in (there is a discounted return option if you don't see everything you wanted in the first day). The opening hours limit a day to 7 hours.
Outside food isn't allowed in the main cafe, but there are plenty of places to sit and eat in the sun or shade.
They are free on 1st Thursdays from 5-8. So if you can delay your visit by 1 day you can get in free on the 5th this year.
Yes you can walk through several planes in the outdoor area
Money... Please consider donating to support this fine museum and share your thoughts.
Concord is open but the upper section of the 747 is still closed
You do need a ticket, but Air force one, the 747 and the 787 are open. The Concorde is not.
Not really. It’s more like exhibition. There are some simulators but currently closed due to Covid.
Don't know that answer sorry
I do not think so. Your best bet is a wooden pre built 1/32 model found online. There was a model kit in the works by a Russian company called AMP. To the best of my knowledge a 48th scale was never produced.. I may be wrong!
I would look on the website.
Yes there are some tables outside near the Trans Canada airlines constellation that you can see the runway from.
This is the only "museum of flight," this is in Tukwila about 15 mins south of Seattle. This is the largest Boeing museum with LOTS of airplane models on display, some suspended from the ceiling, some which you can walk on-board and tour etc. This has the original "red barn", and short movies to watch, and a number of interactive exhibits. The other one is the "future of flight" tour which is in Everett (30 mins north of Seattle). That is a smaller "museum" and mostly features a tour of the actual airplane manufacturing facilities. So in general, if you want a museum go to the "museum of flight" 15 mins south of Seattle, if you want a factory tour go to the "future of flight" 30 north of Seattle.
I called the museum directly with similar questions. They were very helpful!
They will be at ticketing if you didn't ask to have them mailed. Ticketing is across the road.
Hi Tomasz, if you're traveling with luggage, we can store it securely in the coat room -- just ask at the front desk when you arrive!
We got ours on the day of the visit at the museum.
Adults $25. Seniors $21. Youth (5-17) $16. And kids under 5 $0. Have fun!
You can buy tickets online for the 4th, so yes. I did recommend buying tickets online though. You have to pay a booking fee, but you skip the long admissions line going in
Yes only something's some have braille so it would still be educational
Wonderful place . .. one could spend days there and not learn all the place has to offer
Is this a question or accusation? You should address this to them directly with specific examples so they can correct the mistakes instead of blasting them on here.
You can go alone. I believe you also get a discounted tickets rate
They have a gift shop to buy that sorts of things
You can do that, but only 3 weeks in advance (or less). I would suggest doing so if you plan on seeing a movie.
Yes. It is an all day ticket...
Yes, It is free on the first Thursday of each month.
Frank Emmanuel Petersen Jr. (USMC) (March 2, 1932 – August 25, 2015) was a United States Marine Corps lieutenant general. He was the first African-American Marine Corps aviator and the first African-American Marine Corps general. Vernice Armour (born 1973) is a former United States Marine Corps officer who was the first African-American female naval aviator in the Marine Corps and the first African American female combat pilot in the U.S. Armed Forces. Neither was the first chopper pilot, but those were the first black marine corps pilots.
Walk around and see some awesome pieces of aviation history up close. You can read about each one or just breeze through. They also have good exhibits about other things related to flight, like how planes fly, air traffic control, etc.
There is a large lot right outside of the entrance with a large overflow lot next to it. It was free and there was plenty of space.
Yes, I believe it's the first Thursday of every month.
Most exhibits are indoors, including the space exhibit across the street, the historic red Barn, kids areas, and the main museum (SR71 area), really just the large jetliners 747, 787, Concord, ww2 bombers, that are outdoors, and those still under shaded roof. Excellent place for a hot day
I have no clue about how to make the rockets. Look on you tube they might have something for you there
Se defiende. You can buy only the ticket for the museum, or pair that with some movies or activities. Just check the website for more details
Yes, first Thursday is free
Kid (5 -17): $15 Adult (18+): $25 Senior (65+): $20. Buy ticket onlone to save $1.

There is also the Space Shuttle Trainer in the Simonyi Gallery. You can get a tour of where shuttle crews trained in the crew compartment, it is extra however.
no Problem to buy tickets there.
It depends on how long you would like to ride.
Yes, it is kept outside under a shelter on the opposite side of the main museum entrance but not in a covered hangar.
Yes and yes
Hi Gina (Sorry we don't check here often!) -- Apollo is a permanent exhibit, with no set end date. We will be hosting the Smithsonian's touring Destination Moon exhibit March - September 2019, which will temporarily inhabit/supplant some of our existing exhibit, with the intent of resetting it as Apollo afterward.
Yes, but overpriced and very slow. I always bring a sack lunch to eat on the benches in the lobby.
Parking is free on both sides of the main road. Overflow is located next to the pavilion
Most if the docents should be able to answer any of your questions, even if there is no descriptive plaque. Thete may also be a book available in the gift shop.
If u are serious about the exhibits .. I would say an entire day
The museum will reopen on December 26th.
Best to check the website, the museum offers all kinds of discounts for seniors, veterans and active duty military.
They offer discounts in general and yes were free last year.
First Thursday nights are free.
