I feel so much better knowing that my squirrel will get the help it needs from Austin Wildlife Rescue and be with other baby squirrels to become its real self. Our family will miss you especially your surrogate mama cat.

I thought the whole reason is to release animals back into Austin. They were sending the Racoons we dropped off to Elgin...

These guys and gals do great things!

These folks are super awesome and caring. Thank you for taking care of our little friends in need!

Report it to Travis county animal control and ASPCA....otherwise keep your cats indoors. Austin Wildlife Rescue is for wild animals not domestic.
I am trying to ask my husband who volunteers at wildlife rescue, but he's at work and I can't reach him. Is it possible for you to put it in some kind of carrier and bring it there tomorrow? EDIT: I realize that by now you did whatever you did but my husband reminded me that one should always call wildlife rescue before taking a sick or injured wild animal anywhere because sometimes, they will have advice that will save you the trip.

I took a house finch last week, same situation. Very easy process, I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. They do not charge, but they are a nonprofit so donations help! 🙂 They also ask where you found it so they can return the bird to the same area when healed!
Call Wildlife Rescue to see where to take them. Doesn't sound like the turtles need rehab before release, so I don't know that they need the Center, but the folks there can definitely tell you where it's ok to release them. 512.472.WILD
I bet he's doing great, living a happy bird life.
No they don't.
We can take it in at Austin Wildlife Rescue. We're open from 9-4 today!
We only take in native Texas wildlife that can be released back into the wild. You will need to find a place for farm animals. Austin Farm Sanctuary may be able to help!
No, we do not. If you call us though between 9-4 we can provide you with alternatives/options if there is an animal that you do not want in your area.
No, we mainly take in native wildlife.
I'd probably call Austin wildlife refuge first and see what they recommend.
I would bring them in too. They probably can't go much longer especially in this heat without some fluids at least. I would keep them close to me for heat but I have strapped all kinds of animals to me. I can't just leave them outside. That would kill me.
I don't think the people at the wildlife rescue will come pick an animal up. May want to try calling animal control, they're more than capable of taking the little guy over there.
You can try taking it over to the rescue. Their intake is at 5401 E MLK.
For tonight...Prep a small box, line it with paper towels or a rag towel and place the bird inside. Dark, quiet, and warm. Take bird in when they open.
Contact a wildlife specialist
If it is alive, definitely bring it to them.
Yes, call WR.
I would suggest checking with animal control. They do drop animals off at the rescue.
They do not come to pick up animals as far as I know. I would give them a call to see if they have any resources or ideas.

The Austin Animal Center takes pet surrenders, including birds.
How old was he? I would call the Wildlife Center and ask to speak to one of the rehabilitators.
Hi there! I understand how enticing it seems to have an exotic pet. In college, I interviewed the Austin Zoo owner. She's a great person to speak to about what it takes to care for a non-pet pet. Primates end up with her at the zoo because once they reach puberty, they are uncontrollable. It's terribly sad as they live a pampered life of love with humans, then suddenly they're behind bars and alone. Also, it's illegal to have them as pets due to zoonotic diseases and so forth. I'm glad you asked before you got yourself and an innocent animal into an unmanageable, expensive, and harmful situation.
I found a baby mockingbird with head trauma last year and when I called AWF they took him. Call them and ask what to do.
Call the Austin Wildlife Center, they might can guide you.
Put it in Tupperware or something lined with paper towel and then call Wildlife Rescue, says my friend who volunteers there.
Domestic ducks are not wildlife. They are pets. Please don't release them into the environment to compete with native wildlife. Use the internet to find a new owner, just like you would for a dog. Maybe a farm wants them for eggs. And please don't get pets you can't keep for life in the future. And don't bother the hard working stay at wildlife rescue as they work to save injured wild animals. Cute ducklings are not appropriate pets if you can't keep them.
Release them at Fisherman’s Park in Bastrop....there is a lot of geese there to have as friends.
Call wildlife rescue for specific instructions.
Take the animal to them and make a donation they will give it the care that is needed
Take it wildlife rescue asap!!!.
Is he with his parents, or have you taken him in? He will receive the best care from his parents. But if you've taken him from the wild, he is probably better off with a wildlife rehabilitator.
