This place and surrounding properties are TERRIBLE!! The buildings are so old and infested with bugs (including termites at one point). They wanted to raise my rent almost $400 without doing any upgrading or additional maintenance because they said they were “matching surrounding competitors.” That may be the case on price but the quality is not worth it. Super thin walls, a/c barely works. If you’re in a townhome, it’s impossible to keep the upstairs even remotely cool. I also had trouble getting my security deposit back and when I finally got it, they stopped payment on the check so it bounced. Absolutely terrible place to live. It’s just overall a dirty and scummy place. Do not recommend to my worst enemy.

Very good

Management and maintenance are wonderful. Very speedy with things that need fixing. Management is empathetic and flexible. The actual units are a little outdated but the space is still pretty good and you can’t beat the price in the Charleston area.

When I moved to Charleston, SC in April of 2004, I was in need of a place to call home. The first complex I called did not have an opening until June. So sight unseen I called Town House Village. According to the Manager I spoke to, I was the only client she booked over the phone. Later that same day , I met with the management team and got to see my new home. This was January of 2004, and my new home was in the state of being remodeled. The previous tenant I believe had lived in the same town house for 16 years. I remember thinking who lives in an complex for more than a few years. Well, , as it turns out I lived there almost 17 years. The owners and management treat each resident as if they are family. Over the course of my stay at Town House Village I had some life issues including the passing of my dad. The support I received from the staff and owners still warms my heart. Enough about me, why would I stay for almost 17 years. First and foremost was that anytime and I mean anytime, I had a maintenance issue, it was addressed and fixed almost immediately. The staff are very multi talented and can do many things. Trust me on a Friday night at 11 in July when your ac conks out, you really appreciate them. Secondly, is the affordability for the size of the town house and location of the complex. The grounds are kept up with flowers all over and the grass is cut every Wednesday. They take tremendous pride in what I called home for so many years. Typing this I think of all the friends i made including the staff over my many years there. Believe me when I say, if and when I ever move back to Charleston, I’ll definitely call Town House and West Village my home again.
