Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
You might want to call them to make sure
Only Indy, none of the humane societies are connected.
You can visit the cats any time you like! When I was visiting they let me walk around as long as I read the signs.
IH has a first come first serve policy and cannot pout animals on hold for patrons!
Yes they are open, both the vaccine clinic and the adoption area are open 11am-6pm
You may want to just go and give them a visit.
Yes! They do not accept walk-ins and there is a $40 surrender fee
Hi Karly Queen , i'm donating 2 kittens ,In case you're interested
Yes they take all kinds of donation items and items they do not take are listed on their website
Check nextdoor app and let your neighborhood know you lost the cat. Works well 👍
You sure can! I volunteer there now and I love it. I work with the cats. You can volunteer for cats or dogs. Go on line or stop by. We are always looking for volunteers. Thanks for asking!
At the low cost clinic you can get shots and other tests. They do a basic exam on your pet.
I believe it is free.
Yes! They have a large dog room and a small dog room. Adopt dont shop!! Go see who you can rescue today!
Yes they do its also a low cost clinic.
Yes they do if they can not help the cat or dog cause it's to sick. Call to make an appointment.
I am not sure, you ask a Veterinarian.
now,
Indy Humane adoption
No, pretty sure it's only dogs and cats
I don't know you should be able to call them I don't know why they not answering the phone but I know we went there or whatever but they were doing appointments only so I don't know
I'm not sure; I suggest calling.
They don't spay or neuter for free, just like any other shelter, you simply schedule one
Im looking for a small puppy Pomeranian,Shih Tzu, miniature poodle miniature ,long hair dachshund,Maltese
It's not a video game! Go back to playing FF
I think they take all clean donations.
Yes they open to the plubic
It's open to the public now but you've got to wear a mask
Or you can find info on the website that will provide information.
I'd suggest that you call them and ask. As far as I know it should be possible, but I am not affiliated with IndyHumane.
I'd suggest that you check their website for information about volunteering. Or, call them directly with your question. I'm sure that you would be an asset.
Yes they accept lost puppies
No they don't
Right now it varies, check their website or call.
I do not work thete
Not yet
I believe it is due to volume of business. Your best bet is to email them at the address provided.
If you are trying to adopt you have to go online. Fill out a application for the pet you want and they will call u at whatever time you selected and the process goes from there.
I dont have a number I always go to their website and there is a link to click to send them any questions you may have. They respond within 24-48 hrs. Hope this helps.
No. That is disturbing. They clearly dont want to adopt out their animals anyway as they are appointment only due to "the pandemic."
Do you know how we would surrender a pet?
Definitely make an appt before going. I went a few weeks ago and appointments were necessary then unless they have changed their procedures since then.
usually it will have a fee associated with the animal by the animal's photo/info. we adopted a kitten and it was just 20 dollars.
Yes u do but right now u can take it with u the same day
They aren't only by appointment
Not sure; I think so because there were quite a few there when I visited.
When we went two weeks ago it was appointment only
Sometimes indyhumane have puppies. You just have to be quick to get them. Go in there website and search for them that's the only way to finding out. But be warn once you get your new family member, it will be hard to contact them. Your whole communication with them is shut down. I had emailed them about my pet after 1 or 3 days and i notice that he had diarrhea. They told me if he had diarrhea with a week of having him call them. They do not answer there phone calls, and trust me they are not busy like they say they are. But they do train them very well. Pay attention to details of your pet. They gave me information and the 1st or 2nd my i notice something about him. Once i figured him out it was easy on day 3. Now they will be clingy. But not that clingy. Keep something of you in there cage with your sent. It will keep the calm. Like an old shirt. After a week everything should be smooth sailing. But train him/her how you want them to be.
2 pounds or 8 weeks old is the absolute earliest.
Check out West Michigan Street Animal Hospital.
You can also fill out a lost pet form on their website (IndyHumane.org) and if there's a match they will contact you
I think $45. At their low cost clinic on Holmes Ave. Check their website to verify!
There is a screening process. Go in and let them know you would like to fill out an application to adopt and they will get you started.
You can definitely just go and chill with the animals.
Yes, they have a vaccine center there. Try googling the phone number, and asking Indyhumane. That might be your best bet to get a quick answer. There are other nonprofit dog centers, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. When you call indyhumane, ask about other nonprofits that may be able to help if they can't. They're super nice, and always willing to help. Good luck 🍀💙✌
Yes as long as they're cleared my medical.
It changes every day new ones and people adopt just check them out
Its today
I didnt know they had one. Good info to have, wish I could provide it for ya.
They would check her out to see if she had any health issues and look for a chip possibly. They adopt cats and kittens often to families. I adopted my dog there and we were really happy with our experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help you.
They take surrenders in the back of the building. Sometimes there's a line so be prepared to wait. And yes they love donations whether be money or just bringing in food and other items animals find useful
Im not sure. If you call them im sure they can assist you with more information...
Yes!
Get a friend to take you. They aren't a taxi service.
Here is the link for dogs: https://indyhumane.org/adoptable-dogs/ Hope you find your forever pet!
Yes after an application and I review.
It better be because it's really the only way to communicate with them. They do a good job getting back via email within 24hrs.
Check their website for free or reduced priced pets. Indyhumane.org
Yes they will. They are always looking for donations of any type.
Indianapolis Animal Care Services at 2600 S Harding St, not IndyHumane.
They will take your dogs and give them a good home. You have to be 21 in order to get a dog.plus they charge a fee.
Yes. This is one of the items listed online in their wish list
I found out that they have both one-year and three-year shots here. Each costs $15, but the vet determines whether your pet meets the criteria for the three-year shots. If they've had it before, they'll likely get it again.
Mon and Tues 1pm -7pm, Wed and Thurs -closed, Fri. 1pm-7pm Sat. 11am-6pm Sun. Closed
If you look at their website they have animals that are "no fee". These are typically dogs that have been there for quite some time. Our beagle had been there for 18 months; however, we still paid a $150 adoption fee because he was a "legacy animal". This typically denotes that the dog is purebred as determined by the staff Vet. Visit their website for more details: https://indyhumane.org/wp-content/cache/wpfc-mobile-cache//index.html Hope this helps!
Some dogs who have stayed awhile have a zero adoption fee.
Buy and donate hot dogs. They are always in need of hot dogs as they use them for treats for the dogs. It is a great way to help without spending a ton of money.
Always better to go in. As said previously, they are always very busy. Additionally, as most are volunteering, they are doing the best they can with the volume of folks going in and out.
I'm not sure but you can call and ask them
No they can't.
It does vary by the specific dog. Some dogs have a zero fee that have been there awhile; while, other breeds that are more popular carry a higher adoption fee. Here is the link, I hope it helps: https://indyhumane.org/adopt/profile/?animalID=41159295&apimode=AdoptableSearch
The Adoption prices vary, but they rates are minimal compared to the local pet stores. Recently, the rates were reduced. I'm not sure in the Special is currently in effect. In addition, the facility is cleaner and the staff and volunteers love the animals. I've been a volunteer for years.
You would have to call them; however, there is a place in Brownsburg, IN that is listed as a guinea pig rescue online. Here's the link, hope it helps: http://www.onlineguineapigcare.com/guinea-pig-rescue-shelters-indiana/
If you are referring to the adoption process, there is a $30 non-refundable holding fee that allows you 1 day to come back and complete the adoption. If you are referring to boarding your pets, I am fairly certain that IndyHumane does not offer that service.
You have to call and make an appointment to surrender pets. Here is the link with all the pertinent information: https://indyhumane.org/services/#link-row-for-surrender-a-pet
Hi Gene! All our pets' adoption fees are listed on their profiles at IndyHumane.org. Indianapolis Animal Care Services on South Harding Street is offering free adoptions through February 17th. Thanks for your question! -Hayley
Hello Barbara, If you need to surrender your dog, please call us at 317-872-5650 and leave a voicemail. We do require appointments to ensure we have a kennel available, as well as $40 surrender fee to cover the cost of their initial exam. If you are unable to wait for an appointment or pay the fee, you can take him to Indianapolis Animal Care Services on South Harding Street. They also have an adoption program and more than 90% of their animals are re-homed rather than euthanized.
Go to animal control on Google to see hours and humane society . com
Call the office first.
It's right on their website! https://indyhumane.org/services/service-prices/ It won't let me copy & paste here
lwanr a small dpg
The humane society on michigan road doesn't have a vet service.
The dogs they have vary all the time so you would have to call or visit and ask. I think prices are on their website.
They are open everyday except Thursdays. Google them for exact hours.
I'm pretty sure they are a no kill shelter, but you should definitely call tomorrow during business hours and ask. I truely hope you aren't letting your pet suffer because you can't afford the vet bills...
I don't believe they do but call and ask directly
They require an appointment to surrender an animal and will ask for a $40 donation but will waive it if the person can't afford that
Walk-in basis
Then look for the times it’s not that hard last bum
IndyHumane does not euthanize for space. They will only put an animal to sleep if it has an incurable disease, or their quality of life is not good anymore. Having a pet is going to cost a lot of money. Between food, vet bills, toys, etc, it can get pricey. Making a payment to get one shows that you understand it is a financial commitment. Also, what you pay goes to help fund the shelter for things like food and medicine.
You are confusing this with Indianapolis Animal Care and Control and a few other shelters.
They don't have obedience classes or anything, but they do have a behavioral staff that works with their adoptable dogs. If you do adopt a dog, you can call or email them with any issues, and they will sometimes send someone to work with you in your home
Many of the shelters are full, no one is stepping up to foster or adopt. It is very sad. I've got 4dogs 9 cats on board, they're mine for life now no doubt
That was last month. But i think Hendricks county is doing something on the 22nd. Idk if its free or not. Sorry to give ya some half advice. But that's all i know for now.
Yes they allow you to visit the dogs and give them treats
No, but if you follow them on facebook, they normally post when they are doing different events, including free adoptions
Yes, all adoption fees are standard this week. They can range anywhere from $0 to $295, depending on the animal.
Puppies typically cost $295 to adopt. Older large dogs are normally $160, and older small dogs are normally $235. There are exceptions such as staff favorites which can vary in adoption fee. I've seen senior dogs have as low as a $0 adoption fee before, but I've never seen over $295 for any dog there. We spent months looking at this shelter before adopting our two dogs and we couldn't have asked for better dogs or a better experience.
Your local shelter in your area might offer a discounted fix also.
Call and check to see if they're not overcrowded they probably will
on the 22nd of July the Humane Society is suppose to be doing a free adoption day...
They do when they have space but it's by appointment and you have to pay $40 to drop them off.
They may just be neighborhood strays that she just feeds. Have you talked to your neighbor yet?
They were closed Saturday because of the mutt strut. It was wrong of the girl telling you differently. There were signs everywhere. You can also keep up with them on Facebook. I havent seen bad reviews, I m sorry you did. It is one of the bests in the state and areas around illinois and Ohio.
Not sure my son took his cats to face on Massachusetts Avenue not sure of the address
You should consider the first advice and look into it! If you feel you need to proceed the Indy Humane Society is where you need to go. The shelter on north 421. I would also look into Southside animal shelter if needed. If your dog is as good as you say it, it will have no problem finding a furever home!
First thing you should ask is it a no kill shelter. Then see if you can trust them as well. Honesty is the best policy for everything and everyone concerned.
Basic vet care like vaccines, spaying/neutering and basic tests.
This is not the business email or question page. Call them or just go there.
I am not sure about that but I doubt it. They work off of donations. It's expensive enough to feed all the animals there plus a lot are on special diets. Plus they do a lot of medical care so the can get animals adopted. You should be donating food/money to them.☺
Fees vary depending on size, age and the type of dog. Plus how long they have been there
No fee please bring them all the way in the building. Please do this please. Its a crime abandoning them in the parking lot.
They might not have any but there's a local German shepherd rescue
A couple weeks and theres a fee. Also a minimum hours per week needed
Yes on regular clinic day & walk in only. There are some days of the week that they are pretty busy, you might want to call to see what days are best as I can't remember right now.
I know it is usually only around $60 for a pet at animal care & control located on south harding street & that includes: microchip, spade or neutered, all vaccines r current, a leash & a collar. Most animals at the harding street location don't get a chance & r most of the time put to sleep so if u want a good dog or cat I'd check them out as well
They used to provide euthensia services not sure about now.
All information is on their website
If u jus want vaccinations then west Michigan street vet is the cheapest place to go cuz they don't charge an office visit if ur jus going there for shots & it's only $10 for the rabies shots
Animal care and control has special this weekend. $14 includes everything. Check out websites on both and see what is available. Humane society can be as much as $200
The only free cat's are those with a disease, the equivalent of HIV, called FIV, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. So although you will have a very nice free cat, it will be diseased and eventually will be sick.
I've never adopted an animal before so if a cat is free am i still supposed to donate
Go to the shelter on n median
Hours are Mon, Tues, Fri 1pm to 7pm and Sat 11am to 6pm.
The no adoption fee event ended today 12/16 at 4pm.
Look online. All the available pets are listed.
They have all sorts of breeds. You can visit them and even take out animals you're interested in adopting for a walk on-site
Yes, adoption fees are waived tomorrow, Satursay December 16! I'm just a volunteer, but I'm pretty sure that does mean ALL fees.
They are overrun with cats right now and desperately looking for people to foster them. It can't hurt to call, though.
Ya you should take your kids and they should let the dog pick you not you pick the dog
Anytime there is a need. I would suggest you call them. Sawna Sims is the volunteer coordinator. She's awesome. You'll need some training. It's a great thing to do. Good luck!
no...
The South side facilities are the drop off place so they can do a health check on the animals. Also that's where they test the animals temperament to see if it is adoptable. You can also call animal control to surrender a animal if you don't want to make the trip. Also if it's a breed that has been deemed dangerous you might want to find a no kill shelter in your area.
It is! IndyHumane even partners with other shelters to take in their animals in order to reduce the number of animals those shelters would otherwise have to euthanize.
You dont need to call or anything and theres no breed restrictions but PLEASE BRING THE DOG ALL THE WAY INTO THE BUILDING!! LEAVING THE DOG IN THE PARKING LOT OR OUTSIDE IS A CRIME. PLEASE BRING THEM IN. YOU CAN EVEN JUST BRING THEM IN AND DROP THE LEASH JUST BRING THEM INSIDE.
