The room was comfortable enough however trying to get hot water was next to impossible. When I asked at the front desk which was understaffed, I was told that you have to let it run for about 10 minutes or so. I asked if it would be fixed soon and was told it is like that all the time. my wife and I had the buffet breakfast and the food was okay. I paid with $100 bill and waited while they went who knows where to get change. I waited for a minimum 10 minutes. When he did come back and I asked what the problem was he said that nobody ever pays by cash. I find this beyond ridiculous. After he scrounged up $60 change I left. I will not ever stay at this hotel or its affiliates again.

Not a 4 Star Hotel by any means. Series of issues included: Booked 1 King bed, got 2 Queen. Booked w breakfast, got no breakfast. Front desk never picks up phone. No toiletries (soap, shampoo), had to go get some from front desk. Iron did not work, had to go get another from front desk. Safe shows low battery when used, dis not trust to leave anything inside and have to deal with it running out. By then I was done going to front desk. Towel had holes in them. Lastly, forgot an item in the room. Called directly multiple tomes and all u get is mssg saying the mailbox is full. Called Windham central and they tried to transfer me to them and they could not so all they could do is give me an email. Not cool.

Location was great. Could not ask for a better location to everything. Penn station, times square, the subways, etc. Walked in the room smelled bleach right off hand, which means it was clean. Love love that. Only issue I have is woke up the next morning and mildew was on one of the pillow cases. After my friend has slept on it. They did change the pillowcase out. They did not offer me any kind of conversation or discount for that. However outside of that, great great hotel. They could offer Continental breakfasts, just a suggestion.

The hotel next door is being remodeled so on the street you have to go through a construction zone (October 2022), however in the rooms you can't hear anything from the work. They speak Spanish at the reception, check in at 3 but they took an hour to deliver the room because it wasn't ready, you can leave your bags in a not very nice room, but nothing happened to them; in the lobby there is a restaurant and bar. The building has 4 elevators so you don't have to wait too long. The rooms are large (which is hard to find in New York) and clean, good quality mattresses and comfortable pillows, the closet is spacious with an iron and a safe. The bathroom is well ventilated and in the shower there is from cold to almost boiling water, it has a hairdryer and a spacious cabinet. They changed the soaps, shampoo, etc, every two days and the towels every day. It has free wi-fi, the password is at the reception. The noise level is the same as in an apartment building, it all depends on the neighbors, sometimes the sirens of firefighters or ambulances can be heard but it is normal in a big city. Nearby there are restaurants and convenience stores, there is a 24-hour Macdonald's one block away. The entrance to the subway is on the corner and the Subway E arrives to and from JFK airport. Walking you can reach Times Square, Hudson Yards, Vessel, High Line. I would stay here again.

Parking directly across the street $52/day (covered parking for 24 hours) no in-and-out access
If you write directly to the hotel, they will give you all the directions you need. I took the subway from JFK airport and it dropped me off half a block from the hotel (34 Penn Station). I don't think they offer breakfast service, but I ate breakfast nearby, as there are several options. It is worth a stay and they are very helpful. Cleanliness and comfort 10/10
How many points a night for members
Across the street is a parking garage. Hotel will bill your room. They might offer a small discount. If I were you I would stay somewhere else. The Tryp is a dirty place
We used UBER all the time in NYC. It's far cheaper than the UK due to petrol costs. You can see the exact cost before you go.
Probably best to take a cab. If you're traveling light and want to save some money you could take a bus or cab to 74th st and roosevelt Ave queens subway station and take the E train to 34th st.
Yes, but you have to pay a fee
Very common for bag fees in generally in NYC. Its worth it. Move around freely.
I'm pretty sure 2 blocks, but the must accurate way, go to google map type from and where you go, then select public transportation. Enjoy it
