Chicago Family Law Group was recommended to me and I recommend it to others. Peter Olson and his staff went above and beyond in my divorce case. When I lost my job during the course of the divorce, I was given reasonable terms to make payments, and was forgiven a portion of my bill; my overall cost was further discounted. I am grateful to Mr. Olson and his firm. His puts his faith into practice.

Peter and his team worked diligently to get every issue fully resolved! He is efficient, detail oriented and most of all a kind, honest man. If you’ve been searching for stellar representation you’ll find that with Peter and Chicago Family Law Group. I 100% recommend!! I’m forever grateful for everything he’s done for my family.

Thanks for asking and I hope we can serve you. Do you know what you technically have legally? Is it actually custody or guardianship or something else?
Thanks for contacting us. If you have a Custody Judgment in court (divorce or unmarried parents), you can't move 25/50 miles or more (depending on what part of Illinois you live in) from the children's residence without EITHER: i. Other parent's approval; or, ii. Court's ruling/order. We help people relocate, but, plan ahead if there's a need for the Court to rule/order because it's a 4-8 month process.
Thanks for contacting us. There's no time limit on this but generally 6 months or a year likely needs to have passed since support was set last. The big key is that a major change happened since the last order, and it's usually a change in the income of 1 of the parents.
Laura, thanks for contacting us. At our Firm we price as a 'flat fee' when a matter is uncontested/agreed & hourly rates 280-350 per hour when a matter is contested. Uncontested: 1900-2900 based on complexity and/or kids or no kids. Contested: $7,500 is average. But there is variance depending particularly on WHAT is contested. If custody of children is contested that can take a while and be very expensive. Give us a call. We can serve you.
