Service is very rigid and regimented. Only one out of three elevators was working

Was lacking Hot Water and very low water pressure, No Fridge, No Extra Blanket. One Resturant in Hotel Open which made it extremely busy. Bed was Comfortable. Issues with Hilton App checking in / out, had to visit counter each time. Not your typical Hilton Experience.

Don't be fooled. The gorgeous lobby masks how dilapidated, dreary, and dated the rooms are.

Most restaurants closed Main restaurant, seating and service is in the lobby. Yup, the lobby. You are eating out of an easy chair with low tables, or they do have 10 top where you are dining with strangers, and you can help someone with their luggage at the same time. Executive lounge - closed Room service - nope, NADA, zip. Want to grab a drink? Go to the lobby, as that is you only choice. Small bar, no wait staff to be found, and the bar seats a total of about 12 people. BTW, you will pay dearly for the privilege of these fine dining experiences. $12-$14 for a 12 oz. draft. $23 hamburgers. Conference I was attending was shafted by the event staff, meeting rooms pulled, they had to scramble to get other meeting roooms close by. Icing on the cake? I communicated all this in the middle of my stay and the summary of their response: Sorry, thanks for your money, we have cut way back and raking in the money using Covid as an excuse, and we will eventually provide these services you are paying for and should be getting, but not to you, but in the future to some other guest. NEVER, EVER, will I ever come back, and in fact will look elsewhere beyond Hilton because of this.

If you have a Hilton Honors rewards number, that will afford you complimentary Internet access. No cost to sign up for HHonors.
Adams and Wabash will put you on the East side of the Palmer House, and there is an entrance on Wabash.
Yes there is restaurants inside also they offer room service
A couple of years ago way before the pandemic we were in a cost contament situation and we had to eliminate certain products we supplied for the guest and coffee makers was one of those items
Several private car service options at O'Hare. Contact the hotel concierge to see if they have a car or a partnership rate.
We were just there on 7/31/19. Used the garage at 55 E. Monroe for overnight parking and it was $50 for roughly 24 hours.
There pool is currently under construction and has been for sometime now. Could be a new employee
When I stayed, there were plenty of guests with dogs.
We did not have a complimentary breakfast. There is a grab and go breakfast available for pick up at the front desk for $8. It contains a muffin, fruit, and coffee.
For any hotel if you use an actual credit card it's immediate, but with a debit card it could take up to 7 days
You have to ask, maybe someone from the front desk
As far as I know there is no shuttle but you can find public transportation taxi and Uber just right outside the door steps
They have valet otherwise you have to use a parking garage and pay by the day.
Sorry IDK on that we used Ubar.
There is no public washer & dryer but we do have laundry service available from 8 am to 4pm Monday thru friday
The Palmer House validates parking in the public lot on Monroe.
Yes call them and ask about shuttle service
Don't think so ,they did not recommend, we did take a swim it was cozy.
There are three entrances, one is wabash can't remember the others.
I'd call them directly as there is no fixed rate for anything anywhere (not just this hotel), mostly varying by availability
Close by you'll find the museum campus with Field museum, Shedd aquarium, science museum, and on the north side of town, the Lincoln zoo. Check out CityPass for best pricing. There's also a quick stop at the Navy pier and Ice skating at Millennium Park. In addition, you may catch a show at AMC theatres nearby, or a production at one of the many historic theatres. There may also be a magic show available at the Palmer House in Potters bar and grill on the lobby level. I also strongly suggest paying early online for parking for the millennium parking garage at Grant park. It was $60 for 3 days ($20 /day) instead of $128+. This entrance is 1.5 blocks from the Palmer House Hotel entrance, and 1 block from Palmer House parking lot.
I am sure you could but I agree with TG Special, call them.
It depends on the deal/package/room type. Some include breakfast, others do not.
I don't know for sure, but it's a very fancy hotel so I can't imagine they wouldn't 🙂
If you are referring to our Exhibit Hall, it is located on the 4th floor of the hotel. This area is typically used during in-house events for vendor displays or a number of other uses.
There are plenty of places to make private and personal phone calls.
Sure, the hotel can. If the delivery is for you, contact the front desk and let them know when to expect it.
There is a Target about a block away and a Ross about 2 blocks away. I don't know how they handle mail/Amazon
Use the train! It's like 5 dollars from o'hare to get there and maybe an hours ride.
I don't think so because it's so easy to take the train. Uber, lyft or a cab might be your only option.
You might want to look it up on their website. Depending on the room you get chancesvare you cannhave one in
The nearest is Enterprise car. Here is a map so you may see what's around... https://www.google.com/search?q=palmer+house+hilton+car+rental&oq=hilton+palmer+house+car+re&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0.16861j0j4&client=ms-android-samsung-ss&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#istate=lrl:mlt
As of 2022 the rooms have no coffee, fridge, or microwave. A fridge can be brought up for an additional 40$
I would ask for a free upgrade if available. I always do.
Please contact the hotel to confirm

Try Bye bye Chicago store on Michigan ave. Not too far from michigan/Washington...
There are all races of people in the downtown area of Chicago that are homeless and ask for money, just say no if you don't want to give. And if you have it in your heart ask the LORD to help and protect them no matter the race
They are both good and close enough to the areas you mentioned. Just pick one. They are both managed by the same company. You can't go wrong.

Are rhe rooms discounted without a pool until 2020?
Yes absolutely. It's very busy all the time and i never felt the least bit uneasy
Mine took 1 week
You can park across the street in the parking garage next to the Chase ATMs. If you're staying in the hotel, the front desk can comp your parking.

Palmer house is great. I dont live in Chicago so i cant get your package. The hotel can.
Call the hotel
There is a parking garage right across the street on wabash for 45$ and if you are a PH guest you can get a discount by bringing your ticket to the front desk
$46 day self park
Yes
Pool is closed until summer 2019. Not sure about steam rooms
Chicago Architecture Foundation offers great tours. One if the numerous ones i have taken did INCLUDE The Palmer House. Check with the foundation about what they recommend. I STRONGLY recommend The Palmer House, Chicago Architecture Foundation, the tours, etc. REALLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You'll get a lot more out of what you see.
$55 per night if you self park. Valet is more
No free parking, valet is the most convenient, if you dont need to drive while in town, there is a red line station right outside, the best option is to park out of the city and take the rail in if parking cost is a concern. There is never free parking for anything in chicago.
I'm sure they have 2 bedroom suites but you would have to call them.
Yes
You can also look at Park Whiz for locations near the Palmer. Cheaper and you know you have a space.
Will I have free wifi if I have a hilton honor member yet did not book the room through their offical website?
Yes. You can take the Blue line from O'Hare to the Monroe stop. It's about 2 blocks from the hotel. From Midway take the Orange line to Adams/Wabash and the hotel is right there.
No, there isn't. There are several independent shuttle services that you can hire to take you back & forth. It's cheaper than a taxi or uber.
Yes.
I would guess 18. Need a credit card.
Sally Honestly can't say we booked a number of weeks in advance for our date.
Yes. Potters Bar on the main level near Concierge Desk has great atmosphere, friendly staff and happy hour, though I am not sure of the times.
