Showers are working and have hot water. Fantastic campground. No phone service so be prepared. Ice and wood available at the check in booth. Loved my stay there!

If you're looking to disconnect and enjoy beautiful views, this is the place. Pho e service is not here but you can get a good signal 5 minutes away. Just leave the phone behind, pack water, and grab your camera. You won't regret it.

This review is for group site B. There are vault toilets between group sites A & B and a water spigot. The vault toilets were equipped with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The women's had 2 toilets but no stall doors. They had just fixed the water when we got there (04/15/22) and water no longer needed to be boiled. We were told this upon check in. The site is spacious and has plenty of flat areas to set up tents of various sizes. The shelter has 4 picnic tables, a light and 2 electrical outlets. Bring a long or multiple extension cords if you need electricity in your tent. The restrooms and showers need to be updated. They are dirty and old. The central restroom is a little better than the restroom with the showers. One reviewer said the restrooms are upgraded....trust me, they are not!!! Minus 1 star because the restrooms are awful. I have no complaints about the group campsite.

We went camping for the first time ever a few weeks ago and we decided to choose this place. The campground was great, it was spacious enough and far enough from other campers, but yet close enough to the other campers if we needed anything. The bathrooms were close enough to us as well. The main guy at the gate was very nice and sweet, he helped us navigate the park and told us where to go. 10/10 recommend especially for a first time camper.

No, they have a handicap accessible portable potty sitting in front of the restrooms.
Yes, they have grill at each sight, and also a fire ring. Some grills are broken, your own is a great idea.
Like 30-45 to the top from the parking lot
Yes, but during Spring Break they have been known to fill up fast.
Swimming is not allowed
You'll park at the trailhead for Little Baldy which is halfway between Loop A and Loop B. I'd guess the sites are between 50 yards and several hundred yards away from the parking spot with (non-potable) water being located next to the parking spot. The walkway is not paved. The initial walk is rocks with the final approaches to the sites being bare dirt / forest floor.
Check at the gate or go 5o the camp host. They will have their campsite # posted on the board.
I went abt 2 wknds ago and was told they had JUST opened up tent camping and bathrooms. We walked around and found only porta-potty type stalls were open. Anything that appeared would require running water was secured. BYOW.
Not yet. They do have Porta potties though.
Only rvs allowed right now
There is no phone number for the campground. You have to use Facebook to contact them.
No. Cash or check only.
Yes you can bring your pet, I always take my dog and no problem ever. I take my dog every where with me. Keep it on a leash and with you every thing should be fine.
They do have camp sites pretty close to the water and the grasses usually so you could get a kayak in the water.
Not sure about that, I would call first. Because as it gets cooler lots should be going for fall camping. If I was coming from far off I would call first, it is first come gets the spot.
Absolutely not!
The price you pay at the gate for (like site 15 with elec.) this is the one you want. Say it's 20.00 to camp for a full 24 hours. That's it. Have a great time.
I just pay them there, and if I wanna stay an extra day or whatever, I just go up to the front and pay more. Not sure if that's the right way, but noone has ever told me different
Does anyone live there year round?
No they dont lock it. We stayed in town till about 9pm . Pay the slot box and you will be good.
That is obviously a question of availability but they do have lots of sites and this time of year you should find one!
Look at my pictures that I posted. Repelling is awesome! The whole place is about exploring in the wild. You bring what you want to use. Seriously, look at my pics.
yes.. plus always check if there is a burn ban .. Its wonderful at camp doris during the fall
2 weeks is the limit.
It's generally too cold for rent camping... But it's really up to you
It's in the Wichita Mountains Refuge
