I went to an event for free microchipping at a Subaru dealership. FANATIC EVENT! Everyone was wonderful and gentle and kind. I highly recommend this entity that truly cares about animals(our beloved pets). We came in with 4 cutie cats and all are tagged and now registered for free... Thank you Friends For Life Animal Rescue.

I can't give enough praise for this rescue. The people love and care for these animals so much. They have been so helpful to us when we find and rescue animals.

Hi! Unfortunately not. We currently do not have a junior volunteer program.
Oh no! How awful! Unfortunately we can't make intake decisions via Google, but if you can go to our website at www.azfriends.org and find the Intake tab, you can submit a request. All requests are answered within 48 hours, and most are answered much faster. Thank you for helping these two little ones! If we are unable to help, the person responding will give you other options (it all depends on whether we have bottle feeder foster homes open).
Humane caring volunteers, I enjoyed the experience (twice, two cats)
Hi Laurie, PACC911 which is a coalition of many rescue groups throughout the valley has a store in Phoenix called "Rescued Treasures." It's at 40th Street and Thunderbird.
I started by filling out the volunteer form on their website and they will be in touch as to how to get started and you can tell them how you want to help :) Great organization!!
He can live with me lol.... that's funny. My sister had a female that did the same thing.
You can sign up through their website. They'll contact you when the next volunteer orientation is scheduled.
Hi Rose Ann, adoption fees may vary, based on the animal. All animals available for adoption are altered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Are you interested in a specific puppy?
Our adoption fees vary per dog, depending on the dog's age, temperament, etc. Adoption fees start at $150 (some senior dogs are lower rates). Your best option is to come and see us and speak with an adoption counselor so they can give you info about specific dogs!
You can see their dogs for adoption on their website.
Hi, you can submit an intake request via our website at www.azfriends.org - look for the "Intake Requests" tab. We try to help as many as we can, and if we are unable to help, the person responding will offer other resources.
We highly recommend coming to see us. Anyone interested in learning more about a dog or cat can come and see us anytime we are open. That's the best way to get the most up-to-date information about the animals in our care. In addition, we often have dogs and cats onsite that have not yet published so you'll be seeing them before many others! Hours: Tuesday & Friday 10a-2p; Wednesday & Thursday 3p-7p; Saturday 10a-4p. Closed Sunday and Monday. 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert! Come and see us!
Hi Jane, no we are not a boarding facility. We rescue and adopt out dogs and cats.
If you have an animal that you would like them to intake you can fill out the intake form on the website and then contact the shelter.
Hi Patricia, as I mentioned earlier, please visit our web site at AzFriends.org and click the "intake request" tab.
Hi Patricia, we're very sorry to hear about your brother. Please visit our web site at AzFriends.org and click the "intake request" tab. It will take you to a form where you will be asked a few questions regarding the cat, which will be reviewed by the intake team. If they are unable to place your brother's cat with us, they will provide you with additional resources.
Hi, you can submit an Intake Request for the cat but please note we are limited intake so it will depend on if we have room in order to take. You can go to our website at www.azfriends.org and look for the Intake tab. As for the bunny, I'm sorry but we only help dogs and cats, but there should be a bunny rescue in the valley - please do an internet search to find them. Thank you.
Unfortunately we do not - only dogs and cats.
Hi Dovie! Yes! We can always use towels, and would be delighted to have them.
Please call the shelter directly to find out what they may need

Hi Travis, thank you for saving that kitten. You can find an Intake tab on our website at www.azfriends.org - you can submit an intake request. We try to help as many as possible but if we are unable to help due to space, the person responding will offer lots of other alternatives. In almost all cases, emails are responded to within 24 hours by our volunteer who handles feline intake requests.
Hi, adoption fees vary based on the dog's age, temperament and demand for that type of dog. Current adoption fees for adult dogs range from $350-$450. If you see someone you are interested in, we always suggest coming to speak with us and an adoption counselor to get specific info about a specific dog you might like!
Yes they do
Hi Lola, Friends for Life focuses only on cats and dogs. I'm sorry we're unable to assist with a guinea pig.
Hi Paola, visit our web site at AzFriends.org and click on the adopt tab, and then select dog (versus cat). You will see photos and descriptions of the dogs available, and just below that, an adoption consultation form button. Fill out the form, and visit the adoption center during regular business hours. We look forward to meeting you in person!
Hi Nina! Yes, the little dog house we use to accept donated items after hours is at the front of the building, between the parking lot and the front door. You are welcome to leave donated items there, after hours. Thank you for supporting Friends for Life!
Hi Shelley, Please visit our web site (link below) and click on the owner surrender tab. https://azfriends.org/intake-requests/
Hi, we are limited intake but we take in as many as we can based on space. If you go to our website at www.azfriends.org you'll see an Intake tab. You would need to submit the request there. We will help if at all possible, but if we can't we'll offer other resources. Thank you for saving them!
I would contact them directly
Hi, we frequently have kittens but you would want to stop by during regular hours to see if any are available - you can find our hours and location on our website at www.azfriends.org. Thank you.
Hi, we are volunteer run and only have 2 part-time positions, so I'm sorry we have no paid positions available.
Hi Johnny, we do not have the resources to rescue bunnies, however, you could contact Brambley Hedge Rabbit Rescue
Hi, thanks for thinking of us and yes we do take donations of towels and blankets!
Yes
I do not know. We had adopted a beautiful Pomeranian. Call them. They are wonderful people.
HI! We never charge a fee for surrender of strays or owned dogs. However, we do have an intake process (you cannot just walk in to our facility to surrender). We are a small, privately run facility with limited space, but we try to help as many owned and stray animals as we can. Please go to our website at www.azfriends.org and look for the "Intake" tab. On it you'll find links for surrender of an owned dog or cat, or for a stray. Pick the appropriate one and submit, and someone will respond within 48 hours. We cannot help everyone, but we help as many as we can, and if we are unable to help the person responding will give you lots of other resources.
Hi, I am not sure if this is a question or a comment? If you tried to take a dog to us, please just know that we are NOT a county facility that is required to take in every animal. We are a privately run, limited intake facility - what that means is that if we are full and have no room, we cannot take in another (we do not euthanize one animal to make space for another). We also have a very reasonable intake process - we ask that people go to our website and submit an intake request form. We try to help as many as we can, but we receive far more intake requests than we can handle, have to turn away so many more than we would like. I'm sorry if we didn't have room and weren't able to take the animal you were trying to help, but please understand we have limited space and if there isn't room, there just isn't room
Hi, try the Humane Society - they might have a program for helping in situations like this. Unfortunately it's kitten season so there are lots of litters of kittens out there in need of help, but a larger group like the Humane Society or Arizona Animal Welfare League will have more resources to try to help.
Hi, there are a few low cost places around. We love Homeward Bound - they are in Chandler (near 202 and McQueen) and you can call them at 480-821-7380. Wonderful people and wonderful vets!
Hi! Sorry but we only have cats and dogs - no ferrets! There is probably at least one ferret-small animal rescue in town, so try a Google search to see what you come up with! Thanks!
Hi, please go to our website at www.azfriends.org. Your friend will find an "Intake" tab, and she can submit the request for intake. We try to help as many as we can, but if we are unable to help we will give your friend lots of other resources. And no, we do not euthanize for space, so if we take a dog that will take longer to get adopted, we will not euthanize them to make room for another (hence the limited space). Thank you!
Hi, there is no charge but because we are so limited on space (and full today) we do have an intake process. You can get them scanned for a chip at any emergency clinic or vet, or PetSmart (with Banfield vets). Our process requires submitting an intake request (we only have 16 kennels and all are full today) and if we cannot help, we offer a lot of resources. You could take them to County - odds are if someone is looking for them they will go there. There are lots of other rescue groups also - many people want to get dogs into private rescues because they are afraid of County, but private rescues are all limited in space. If they are nice dogs the odds are good someone is looking for them or they will be adopted from County (or transported out of state - they are transporting a lot of dogs out of state). Our website is www.azfriends.org and you can look for our Intake tab, but if you can't hold onto them that might not be an option. Thank you for trying to save them.
You would have to fill out an intake form then they will call you or you can go down there ask.
Hi! Our junior volunteer program is for kids age 14-17. Once you are 14, please visit our website at www.azfriends.org and look for the Volunteer tab - you'll find a section for our Junior Volunteer program and you can submit an application. Please just note that we do ask that at least one parent comes to orientation - and they will explain the program in detail during orientation! Thank you for your interest in volunteering!
Hi, we get new dogs in every day, and often dogs are onsite that aren't published on the public sites. Dogs like poodles and maltese breeds are usually adopted fairly quickly, but your best option is to come by periodically to see who we have. Saturdays are a good day as all dogs from foster homes are also onsite. Thank you!
Hi, we have a tab on our website at www.azfriends.org that says Intake. You can submit a request for intake, but please note that we do ask for 48 hours for a response (almost always you'll hear back sooner unless it's a weekend). Please note that a request for us to take your dog isn't a guarantee that we an take her, but we try to help as many as we can. Thank you!
Yes
Hi! We don't offer services to the public like that, but you could contact Homeward Bound - they are excellent and might be able to help. Their number is 480-821-7380.
Hi, You can go to our website at www.azfriends.org and look for the Intake tab. With so many requests, this is the only way we can handle intake requests. Never a guarantee that we can help but we help as many as we can. If we are unable to help, the person who responds will give you other options.
Hi, if you are looking for a place that does dog/cat sitting for your own personal animals, there are tons of in-home people that do it, plus lots of businesses. We'd suggest a quick internet search as there are really soooo many out there!
Go to www.azfriends.org There is a link to a form to fill out for pet surrenders.
Hi, we primarily use Higley Road Pet Clinic and East Valley Animal Hospital, both in Gilbert. You can call us at 480-497-8296 and ask for Erica to find out which vet Archie specifically went to. Glad that sweet boy is doing well!
My daughter also wanted to volunteer for community hours towards her graduation . Do you have programs for that ?
Hi, juniors can walk dogs on their own but ONLY if they are on a caregiving shift with adults. Junior volunteers cannot come when we are closed and walk dogs without an adult supervising them - preferably an adult volunteer but if it is not during caregiving time, then their parents must accompany them. The only time junior volunteers can take dogs for walks is if they are on a caregiving shift, being supervised by adult volunteer caregivers.
Hi! Sorry but we are not a vet nor can we offer veterinary services. There are some low cost spay neuter places that might treat things like this (do an internet search to see what you can find). Most vet visit exams are about $50, and medication would hopefully not be too much more expensive. Best to get it taken care of before it gets worse. There’s also Care Credit, something many people use to pay over time for veterinary care. Good luck and hopefully you can get him treatment soon!
Hi, junior volunteers must be 14-17 and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If your daughter is within that age you can find the Junior Volunteer application on our website at www.azfriends.org - look for the Volunteer tab. Thank you!
Hi, if he's your cat unfortunately there aren't many options, but there are a lot of vets that will do payments. I'd suggest calling a few in your area. We are a private facility and we don't offer medical treatment for the public's animals. There is also something called Care Credit - many people apply for this to help with medical costs that come with having a furry family member. Hopefully you are able to do something for him. We'd also suggest contacting the Arizona Humane Society as they might have options for low cost vet services. Arizona Animal Welfare League has a public clinic, and they might cost less so it would be worth calling them also.
Look at their Facebook page and scroll back to the time they were turned in. If they went up for adoption you will see their pictures around that time.
The people who get these questions do not work directly for this shelter. I recommend you call them directly to get the most reliable info
They don't have vet's at the facility i visited, but maybe they have contacts for a discount.
I'm not sure. They deal with the county animal control. You probably contact the county agency.
Yes, give them a call, they are very good. They get animals from the county, so you may just want to call the county animal control to get this done. People might call the county animal control for a lost pet, probably not the Friends ... people.
I an not part of that organization sorry I can't help. Please call city gov animal control.
You may need to call them directly. I'm sure each facility has different rules. Where I volunteer, you have to be 18.
FFL is an individual rescue who only has access to their own rescues. :)
If you visit the website there will be a link to the available dogs.
