They work from an auto dialer and it’s set up to call account holders. Chances are, once you pick up the phone, their employees could be too lazy to continue the call so they hang up...

Sounds like “Zombie debt.” They will keep selling old debt for pennies on the dollar over and over again and come after the full amount.

They're a debt collection service, so maybe if you had a phone bill from a couple years ago or a cable bill you didn't pay they received the collection

That was actually not who I was there to see. I was in another office. To answer your question though. I believe the collection agency owns the debt outright. So It's up to them to have it removed with in 30 or 90 days. But I'd do my due diligence and call both to verify it will be removed. But be prepared with the original debtor and provide receipts. Then if the debt agency doesn't remove it. Hound them and remind them you have the CFPB. I think that's the right letters. Consumer Financial something or another. That group handles these kinds of issues if the debtors don't do what they're supposed too. Hope that helps.

Ever ever pay a collection acct 1- it’s already been paid twice realy to original debtor ...you have no contract with the collection company the original sold your debt and got paid plus a tax credit legally you owe nothing do your research you’ll seee it’s true

once something is reported to your credit it is up to the credit bureaus how long it stays on the credit report not SWC...whether you pay Comcast direct or SWC it is SWC that sends the update to the credit bureaus

It will come off I’m using sky blue credit repair they are awesome once your debt is sold to a collection account you don’t owe anything 1-original debtor sold it and made money plus a tax credit 2- you didn’t sign anything saying you owe anything to the new collector it’s all a big scam legally once it goes to collection you owe nothing I raised my report 200 points since December on my soul !!! Do your own research I could do it but it is detailed and time consuming worth every penny I paid for skyblue
