Beautiful park I hadn't heard of until recently. Campground was great. It was well kept, the bathrooms and showers were clean, and because of the environment, bugs weren't terrible. With the lake, trails, and adjacent State Recreation Areas, one shouldn't run out of outdoor activities to enjoy in any season. We would come back.

Arguably the best state park in Indiana. There endless things to do. Hiking, fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming at the beach. Camp store, clean bathrooms, Well worth the trip and will be back.

I really like this place. Was here from 05.02.22 to 05.05.22. Excellent fishing and unforgettable vacation. In order of preference: You need to fix the roof in the men's room, next to the boat rental station.

This Park is worth your visit. The family cabins were very clean even the Pet friendly ones. The trails are gorgeous. The beach it self was well kept and nice. My only issue is I wish the ropes in the swimming area were farther out or be able to swim outside the ropes.

I'm Wontting to no if I can bring my pull behind camper and camp
Yes you can. The price should be listed in the website.
You are not supposed to. The area within the rope has been deemed a safe area to swim. But there are no lifeguards to enforce it. The park relies on the public to keep themselves safe
Every now and again we can get a text through, but for the most part there's no connection until you get to the top of the hill.
The electric sites ONLY have electricity. NO water or sewer
Quiet, not a lot of people at all. Water could be cleaner. But still enjoyable.
No saddle barn this year. The horse trails are open year round. Check the Indiana DNR website. I saw it on one of my Indiana camping Facebook page.
Call the office and if no one answers call the office at Mounds State Rec. Area. The cabins are available at different times than the cabins. The cabins are normally 4 and after not 2 as the campground. They may have different times and pick up of the keys at this time of year, especially if the office has moved down to Mounds for the winter months. I am not sure of the winter hours, you may want to call before 2. Calling the office should always be your choice. That way you are getting the most
We had a trailer and a large tent and a screened in dining canopy nothing was said
I'm sorry we didn't go horseback riding. But I think it's reasonable, the kids have in the past.
They usually shut the water off during the cold months, so facilities aren't accessable.
The campgrounds itself is open all year long the bathrooms close in mid-november and go down to just a couple of dry faucets.
As advertised on their wensite. We paid $80 plus tax per night.
$70 per night. $2100-$2170 per month
The bathhouse in the campground was amazing. It looked like the bathhouse at the beach was being redone. It was definitely in the process of some sort of major construction.
One picnic table and fire pit with grate attached per campsite.
Best place for camping and fun stuff like going to the beach
Yes
Nope. No animals are allowed on the beach. We learned the hard way, unfortunately.
Yes
There is a discount I don't know how much
Summer get in/out at 2PM, except for Sunday get out by 5PM
Yes but the dog must be on a leash and must stay on the trails.
Yes if you are a resident of Indiana you pay $7 a car load, $9 if you are from Ohio
This question gets asked all the time! It's on their website. Rowboats and canoes: $5 per hour, $20 per day. Kayaks: $8 per hour, $20 per day. Paddleboats: $8 per hour.
Go through Oxford on 27 and you will come to College Corner
Go to camping. In.gov for pricing.
Yes cheaper if it's not a holiday weekend . And bookings fill up quick in advance
Yes they have horse back riding at the horse barn. I see in other posts you have to bring your own , that's not true they have horses for you to ride at the horse barn.
Currently closed for the season. I believe they open up in May. 1.5 mile is $20. 2.5 mile is $30 and they do a 9 mile ride for I believe $60. I think the minimum age is 6-7.
DNR hosts reserved hunts annually at some of the state parks, but you have to sign up well in advance. Please refer to our website: https://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/5834.htm. At this time, our sign up for reserved hunts is closed. You may want to check out some of DNR's Fish & Wildlife Areas or State Forests for other hunting opportunities. Thank you for your inquiry.
Ok thanks that first i ever heard leave cabin unlock before have u rent one out at this place .
Hi Samayra. Park entrance fees are $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle. Thanks for your inquiry.
I think after November
Hi Joann. We only offer electric at our RV sites. You can visit camp.IN.gov for campground reservations and pricing. Prices vary by date. Thank you for your inquiry.
Hi Belinda. We're glad you liked the updated bathroom. We do plan to update a second one but we don't have an exact date as to when it will be completed. According to our office staff, it will likely not be this fall. Thank you for our inquiry.
Hi Doug. We do have campsites with electric hookups available year-round. Thank you for your inquiry.
Yeah, that would be a problem. No emergency contact number on any paperwork you signed?
Not sure, but the trails are nice. If you call they'll have the info in hand for you.
The office does just before the gate . I do not know after hours if the gate sells permits.
No deposit, we had a cat and a dog
No,but there is camp sites close to the lake that I can walk right down to it.
Id call them
Ask a Park Ranger they know everything
$ 80 per night that what wibsite say
Have you looked on the web? Just a suggestion. Goggle maybe
They're all nice cabins they basically all look the same they all have nice views out the back you may be able to get on their websites and look at them
You can go on line and get all the maps to the area indiana department of land management and the parks department as well
Starting price is 78$ per night, the cabins have a living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. They also have a screened sunroom. The bathroom has a bathtub, shower, commode, vanity w/hot and cold water, and is big and quite clean. There is a thick row of vegetation/trees which blocks the lake view from the cabin (sort of protection I guess). All rooms have appropriate furniture. There is no fireplace inside, the cabin is centrally cooled/ heated. However each cabin has individual fire pits right outside. Carry your own pots and pans and bedding. The mattress and pillows have water proof protectors on them, which is a great idea.
Probably fire liability I believe they have heat pumps now
Oct 12-14th for 2018 they do the trick or treat on saturday which would be 10-13-18
