Amazing place to go camping windy during the day but so still at night. Hearing the waves crash as you sleep was therapeutic. we set up our tent right by the the ledge by the dock. I would note have a strong industrial tent if your going to have a big one that is more than 5 feet tall. Ours got whipped into submission. It was Flailing around like a possessed contortionist being hit with holy water during an exorcism. Other wise I would camp behind the tree line.

Great place to camp with groups in RV or tents. Porta-potty was clean and stocked. No flies in this campground because of the fog and ocean..a bonus.. cheap to camp and Lanch.Has a small boat and kiaya launch. Came in late and paid in morning. Friendly staff.

I will be definitely coming back again soon. It was really really windy the day I came and my family and I could not put up our tent because it kept on falling over. We ended up sleeping in the car but i recommend checking the weather/forecast before you go. The trails are so cool and they all lead you to a gorgeous view of the ocean. It was only $30 per vehicle per night if you were paying cash, it is $35 if you are paying with your card. There are so many different campsites to choose from and even with all the RV’s and other types of motor homes we still had a great view of the ocean.

Yes we were just there 4-30-2021 and there was at least a dozen or so sites still open for setting up A-tent And/or parking an RV. Plenty of parking for day visits any day. Probably one of the best spots for camping along the Nor-Cal coast💯. You can pay for your camping spot in the Ocean Cove general store and pick up firewood there if you need more and or supplies if you run out of anything... 👍😁✌
This camp ground is first come first serve. You an call the general store to see how close to capacity they are though.
If you are tent camping, it is pretty easy to find a place to pitch a tent. You won't get a table or fire pit, but you can set up your tent and camp. I have camped along the road in the campground with my 5th wheel when they were full. They are pretty flexible if you are polite and just ask.

Anytime. If the store is closed, just drive in and find a site. They will find you in the morning if you don't go to the store and pay. They are pretty cool here. But don't try and get over and not pay, or they will kick you out.
They charge $30 per car. Not per site or person. Dogs are $5 I believe. It is not uncommon to see 2, 3, 4 cars per site. Each site is a table and fire pit.

There are no sandy beaches in this are. You have to go north 15-20 minutes to black sand beach, or to goat rock in jenner. (30-40 minutes south.)
Awesome place, if you can launch a boat, you'll kill it fishing.
It is i good place off season other than that look elsewhere because it will be busy out there and on top of that the whole place is packed with big trailers and RVs. Not the camp site it used to be few years back.
Every size is there no problem nothing low large speed bumps scrape your bottom. But normal height your ok. Best place for open rv spaces right next to the ocean is the left side towards the bottom next to the ocean. No hookups .no cell service hot showers and water. Can get windy and cold on ocean side. I have a 30 foot travel trailer with four door pickup 52feet in length went all over park no problem.If you want peace and quiet park next to the road . Very little traffic on left side upper park. Full grass area for clean camping.
