There were bad management, unsafe, and rude staffs in the manage office after the manager change to Karen Valeagee. I had lived in village gate apartment when I was active duty in Fort Bragg during Year 2009 to 2015. The management was messed up by Karen Valeagee. They entered my apartment without my permission. They hadn't told me they entered my apartment until I found some furniture were moved. My car's tire had been stabbed at night a week ago before I moved out village gate apartment. I posted my review for village gate apartment some years ago, but my review disappeared on google review. It's the reason I post my review years so late. It's a strange thing that the google review disappeared.

Worst management and most unsafe apartment complex. This review is coming from a physician. I lived in this apartment complex for 7 months when i had initially leased it for 1 year. The reason for moving out was safety. Someone tried to break into my apartment at 11pm and I was eventually rescued by the local police. I complained about this to the management but they clearly said they are sorry but can't do anything about it. When I decided to move out due to safety reasons, they charged me 2 months additional fee and never returned my security deposit. There was no point of much discussion with management (McKenzie and another lady at the office) since they pointed out early on during my concerns for safety that the leasing documents mentioned a point that even if the lessee gets killed while in their complex due to lack of adequate security, they are not responsible and all the charges would still be incurred. There is a lot I can say about their crook nature. I always paid my rent first day of the month and even paid the 2 months rent as additional charges to move out just to maintain my peace and keep myself safe. They never returned my security deposit either even though the apt was left in the same condition as initially rented. I could afford this but I would really like to warn people who may be in a different situation. Hope this review can help someone.
