This campground is great for groups. Aka not really great for those looking for natures peace and quiet. It’s right on the highway. There’s a generator from the school next door running 24/7 and it’s all you can hear. Potable water was up and running this weekend but still no bathrooms, just port-a-potty’s. Sites 6, 7, 8 are all next to the bathrooms and camp host. The opposite side of the campground might be ok. The middle of the campground is all open, no privacy, so again great for groups. Sand Dollar Beach is a 5 min walk across the highway with good surfing and dogs allowed. Campfires are allowed but $15 a bundle, you can get some elsewhere first. No service on this stretch of the 1.

Most expensive and worst campground ever. Restrooms were extremely dirty (it was better going into the bushes than the restroom) overall the camping was dirty and our campsite was on a slope. I am very used to car camping, and even more to backpacking and very primitive situations, but this was def. NOT WORTH the money !!!!!
Bike Farm
No drinkable water. No showers. No real bathrooms, just porta-potties. This park really shouldn't be charging admission until it is repaired. Good location though.

Very rude camp hosts, expensive with no drinking water its a dollar a gallon. Expensive fire wood for what little you get . And only Porta potties for bathrooms.

Group sites 1 and 2 are not connected. Group site 1 is isolated and small and cannot accommodate 40 people. The view is amazing from 1. Sites 2 and 3 are connected
Tap water yes, showers no. If you go up the road just a little bit to limekiln campground they have showers. Technically not public, but nobody will really bat an eye if you use them. (I was there just last week)
Try Willow Creek a couple miles south.. sometimes shows color...
Sand dollar beach is about a 15-25 min walk from campground to beach. It just depends on walking speeds. It's a downhill trail.
No, there isn't one at Plaskett. There might be a pay phone at Sand Dollar just across the street from Plaskett Creek Campground. Can't tell you for sure if it would be operational since Sand Dollar (as well as PC Campground) been closed unfortunately since the Dolan fire in august. The nearest pay phone to that one would be at Gorda some miles south.
All campgrounds are currently closed due to Covid-19 guidelines for California. But keep checking back.
I was there less than two weeks ago and they are indefinitely closed. As far I know all forest service land remains closed
It's my understanding you would have to get there via hwy 101 instead of down the coast due to the fires and the coast road closed.
That spot might be closed for renovations. You can only book a spot 6 months in advance.
Yes
No. It's a lovely Beach and a short walk from the campground.
Use Google earth to zoom in..really beautiful well kept are...close bathroom
No showers, a friend brought a portable showerhead. They sell them at Walmart for $25
Does that mean we have to be there by 10 pm?
You should check in with the camp host as soon as possible upon arrival. I believe the campsites turnover around noon.
Yes we have tons of tent camping sites!! $35 a night!!
Depends for bikers and hikers yes for others like cars they are mostly reservations but now the season is winding down so you can probably get a site..especially during the week
Yes within fire pit. Firewood is also sold by the host for a reasonable price
Try going on the internet. Most reservations are covered that way. However, if you need something by July 20th you might have to go with one of the "first come, first serve spots" as July is peak season and spots are likely booked.
If you have a bigger group, then a group site would be better for you. I went during father's day weekend and had to make reservations 6 months ahead to ensure a spot. You can check for campsite availability, occupancy limits, and fees on recreation.gov -Ivan
Oh, wait, you meant "there"... 😉 😂 Yes, you can certainly take a RV to the campground. I don't think they can accommodate the really big ones, but the smaller camper type should be fine.
South of the campground there is Gorda, a very small town that has some accommodations. Book early though, they don't have much room. Can also look into Airbnb in the area.
Cost is fixed per site, $45 per night, max of 8 people.
It must be the day of by 2, unless you call ahead of time and let them know otherwise
The campsites are big, easily 2 or 3 tents can be built. If you need more tents you should find site with more flat areas
I'd think so, but I'd recommend checking with the site hosts to be sure. Also, it's miles from anything, so make sure you get everything there in one go!
There is not a fire ban at all.. so to answer your question.. camp fires are allowed..
