Really enjoyed our visit. We purchased an audio driving tour CD in the gift shop and I highly recommend it.

Valley forge is national historic monument. All parts of the park are free.
Yes. There's an encampment tour if you're interested: https://www.nps.gov/vafo/planyourvisit/encampmenttours.htm
Yes but only on a leash. Also beware of ticks. There are a lot of them in the grass.
The road running through the park is a public road used by nearby residents. There are no gates closing acesss to the park.
As far as I know, there are grills in some of the picnic areas, but not all.
If this is your first time visiting Valley Forge it is highly recommended to take a trolley tour the cost for a ticket is 17.50 for adults. The trolley tour will cover all the major points of the park with stops at each major Monument. After you finish the trolley tour you can drive back to things that are of special interest
With new borns, makes sure you stick to the paved trails for the stroller. Fair warning, most of the paved trails have full sun exposure. Also, make sure you do a tick check at the end of the day.
Yeah, check the website because some are open and some are closed.
Contact the park service office
Allowed? I have seen some hammock near the picnic area. Is it allowed? Should check with Visitors center, to be sure..😀
You can actually go to the park without paying unless you want to hear the guided audio tour. The roads that go throughout the park are open to the public and you can go on your own self guided tour.
Park is still closed, people are getting tickets if they park on the road side. Limited opening in the 1st or 2nd week of June; I'm hearing. Park at Sck River trail and ride in.
I suggest u go on the website to get the trolley times, sorry 😣
Park is open from sunrise to dusk. Visitor center 9-5, Washington's headquarters 11-5, trolley tours 11,1 and 3 (fee for the trolley). The rest of the park is free.
No plenty of walking trails. And. It is a nice place to walk around.
I think your implying 4-wheelers or dirt bikes? No, those aren't allowed.
No, not in the park.
It was the winter headquarters for George Washington during the Revolutionary War.
I was just there this weekend for bunnyland and fishing is available, they also had baby goats and face painting.
Look on line. I went in October. They should have something, I would think
The park is closed at dark. As long as there is light, youre good to be on the paths.
Yes, there are several pavilion area with picnic tables. They are located next to parking lots primarily.
I don't believe overnight parking is permitted. Try calling the rangers line and maybe you can leave a message explaining you had an emergency.
Thank you all for answering. God Bless you.
Valley Forge was never built as a monument. Is a historical monument from the Revolutionary War. There are some Huts that were built around that time. Most of the housing and buildings in the area or private homes that were used or, as you will, commandeered during the war.
Originally Valley Forge State Park, it became a national historical park in 1976. The Park contains historical buildings, recreated encampment structures, memorials, museums, and recreation facilities. The park encompasses 3,500 acres (1,400 ha) and is visited by over 1.2 million people each year.
I have good service, on AT&T. The park is a high traffic area, should be good service on any carrier.
The grounds are open, but the buildings are closed, as per the website
You should contact the park office for rules and information.
There is a nice visitors' center with rest rooms and more along the trails. Dogs must be on a leash.
9 to 5
No. If you have an t.v., there are private sites within a half hour. Otherwise, there is a motel 6 in King of Prussia that would probably be the cheapest thing around.
