I donate items for their Thrift Shop. The proceeds support their work.

I want to say thank you to the staff at the humane society for helping add a member to our family. I had no intentions of getting a dog that day. But all the staff was so nice and the adoption process was so smooth. Definitely would recommend to anyone asking about adopting !

Great place with caring folks!

Curiously I wondered about that yrs ago. These horses are dragging in the heat. Seems a bit cruel that we are told to bring our pets in because of the heat but these horses are out there in it.
Yeah, they tend to be under staffed. It's best to just go up there.
Call or take him to the humane society and maybe they can help you
Yes but I believe you need to set an appointment for drop off.
Very easy to adopt and fees start from $50 to $300 depending on the age of the dog $15 to $50 age of cat. Good luck! PS they are closed on Mondays.
I believe so, there website will let you know for sure
Unfortunately, a queen mattress may be too large for the dog kennels. Additionally, we cannot accept mattresses at our thrift shop due to sanitation policies. We can however, accept waterproof crib mattresses. Thank you for the kind thought & for valuing our shelter pets!
There us a charge. I believe it is about $30 per animal. The money goes toward medical care and food. An appointment us necessary. If the cats are unfixed, the appointment date us based on availability if the spay/neuter clinic.
It should be around 10$(?) not entirely sure, check with Pet fix, they are right next door to them
No but you can go to Rover.com and find a good pet sitter there
Get any local vet to scan for a chip to make sure no one is looking for her if you haven't already.
u
I didnt see any drop off information when I adopted my pet.
Go to the humane society and look at the pets and decide which one you like pay a small fee then take them home
Usually it can be done pretty quickly. My roommate adopted a kitten a month ago and we were in and out in an hour, and taking her home with us. If there's a particular one you see online you want you can call ahead and they'll hold it for you for 24-48hrs.
They do have labs at shelter
We adopted out cat within an hour. She was already spayes, so we took her home that day
You can schedule online via the Pet Fix Savannah page on the Humane Society Website. I've attached the link below: http://www.humanesocietysav.org/pet-fix-savannah/
Hi Dana it is $10 for the rabies vaccine but we wait until the puppy is 12 weeks old. We have a walk-in vaccine clinic Monday - Thursday from 1pm - 3pm. The clinic takes place at Pet Fix Savannah at 7215 Sallie Mood Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. It's on the Humane Society campus. Thanks.
From time to time we will have rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and other small/furry animals up for adoption. Right now we have 2 guinea pigs, no rabbits. Our main focus is dog and cat adoptions.
They have a variety of pups. It's like the luck of the draw tho. They can't guarantee what pups they will have.
https://www.humanesocietysav.org/adoption/dogs/ https://www.humanesocietysav.org/adoption/cats/ Hi Mary we always have an up to the minute list of available dogs and cats at the links above.
Caddie, if the cats are feral look for a feral cat group who will help you. I'd also suggest looking for Cat Rescue groups nearby. They should be able to refer you to someone that can assist based on location and circumstance. If the cats are friendly and you can catch them an ad on Craigslist might lead to adoptions.
They were left here, not actually ours. I will take them in though. Do you when they can be taken?
They don't open until 1:00 as I understand it

Depending on what end of town you are in. The Humane Society also has a resale shop that takes donations. They are on Abercorn right before the Big Lots heading south.
Hi Melody, there are no animals being held hostage here. The Humane Society receives pets from owners that for one reason or another can no longer take care of their pet. Many of these pets come to us with expensive medical or behavioral treatments needed. We provide that care and then try to find new homes for these pets. There is a small, standard adoption fee that helps us recoup some of the costs of providing care for these pets while they are here, but it doesn't nearly cover all the costs. The Humane Society 'loses' money on every pet that comes through our door, but we are here because we love animals and we provide a much needed service to our community. Please feel free to reach out directly at (912) 354-9515 x102 if I can help resolve a specific issue.
Yes, we do. Thanks.
Our dog adoption fee could range from $75-$400. All adoptable dogs have undergone spay or neuter surgery, as well as testing for diseases specific to their species, and vaccinations prescribed for their species. Your pet will also have several basic vaccines, including rabies vaccines, Da2ppv, Bordetella, heartworm tests and preventative treatments prior to adoption. In addition, we offer flea and tick preventative care, and microchipping, deworming and nail trimming for dogs. Yes we allow visitor to interact with many of our pets. Our adoption veiwing hours are 1pm to 6pm Tuesday-Saturday. Hope to see you soon. Thanks.
I'm not sure probably at least 16
[email protected] She is our new Volunteer Coordinator. Thanks.
You can call animal control at the humane society. If you don't have the cat in your possession they will bring you a trap. Then you call when it is captured and they will come pick it up.
They also accept items for their thrift shop and give receipts for the tax deduction.
2pm to 6pm the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. Thanks.
They are closed Sunday and Monday every week.
They didn't when I was there but, you should call them,as I'm sure they get different breeds
I would also try emailing. If it's an emergency involving the welfare of an animal call the police. They'll be able to contact the appropriate person or agency.
I agree with Courtney.
Is this a joke?
Yes, I've seen them there.
You can surrender your pets. There is no fee.
How am I supposed to make an appointment when I've been waiting over a month for them to return my call, or even answer any of the different options within their automated system?
Good luck getting the Community Engagement Manager to contact you back. We completed two parts of the orientation process (there are 4 total) and she would never return my calls or emails to schedule the remaining orientations. Must not want help too badly in my book.
this particular shelter only euthanizes animals who are too sick or aggressive to rehome. they do NOT euthanize due to space or period of time the animal is kept.
They close at 6 but they do have weekend hours
The books can be donated to the thrift store. The animals will LOVE the towels and blankets.
I got my american pit there And he is sweeter than american pie
They have what us called a 'meet and greet' so you can if they will get along.
Prayers and for Mrs. B, blankets for her kennel, Dog food, behavior training. She has nipped at a few people. And me and Shelly could use some prayers and of course money is always great. If you need anything from us please let me know.
It's free. I, unfortunately, had to surrender my baby. They even sent me pictures of his new parents.
No. You go to the place on Eisenhower near Waters Ave. The door facing Eisenhower, closest to the parking lot, is the place. They will need a rabies certificate, I think.
Yes 55.00 for females 65 .00 males i think my cat was female and it coast 55. They even offer shots and microchipping in a package deal.
It's already open.
As of now no they're actually urging people to do a temporary adoption to help with getting rid of the animals and relocating them
