What sort of protection do the carriage horses in Savannah have? Saw one tonight at 10:00 pm that could hardly go. So sad!! Still working him at 11:00. What kind of schedule and regulations are in place? How many years do these horses do this?

Curiously I wondered about that yrs ago. These horses are dragging in the heat. Seems a bit cruel that we are told to bring our pets in because of the heat but these horses are out there in it.

You should report it to parking services..they don't have enough protection, we are sorely lacking in healthy animal protection laws...also call the carriage company and tell them...the drivers are not well trained sometimes and dont recognize the horses are distressed..

Not sure how many years, but the horses are treated well. City has put in ordinances, in order to protect them. Usually after an hour, they have to take a break

I too have seen them working in very hot weather carrying many people. Very cruel, I would never take a carriage tour.
