The historic society has done a great job keeping the fort up and exhibits in good presentation! A very good way to see what it would have been like for old military here. Worth the trip!

We attended Old Fort Jackson with our Girl Scout Troop (12 and 13-year olds) expecting a self-guided tour of "old cannons and stuff." Wow - were we SO happily surprised at what we enjoyed instead! First Sargent Bradford, who stayed in costume and in character the *whole time* quickly won over 11 teenage girls who came prepared to not be impressed and both taught them a great deal about life at the fort, but made sure they had a great time in the process. They all loved it and not one was rolling their eyes once things got started. Don't hesitate to add this to your list of Savannah to-dos, and if you get First Sargent Bradford, be prepared to march in formation! Amazing!

Yes
Yeah, they're pretty awesome here. Most places would be a no.
Hi Angela! We welcome pets on leashes or in strollers/carriers.
Old Fort Jackson offers daily cannon firing programs at 11:00am and 2:00pm. The historical interpreter will give a presentation covering several aspects of the fort's history and end the program with a demonstration cannon firing. On holiday weekends this schedule may be slightly altered to offer additional demonstrations and programs throughout out day. Feel free to call during our normal operating hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm to verify the cannon demonstrations on the day of your visit.
Hours of Operation: Open seven days a week from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day

No, I tried. They don't accept any passes. It's privately owned. Was worth the entry fee though, if you catch the guided tour and cannon blasting.
