I am having some issues with my last landlord, I reached out to Colorado Affordable Legal Services, spoke with a very respectful gentleman who helped me tremendously. Although they do not service my area, he was still willing to give me some helpful tips over the phone. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone and everyone in need of help. Colorado Affordable legal primarily represents the tenant not the landlord. You can give them a call they will probably give you a referral to a legal office that more talented the landlord. Good luck.

I gave early notice to my apt. office that I would be moving out in May of last year. Lease was up in July; I gave my notice in March. Even though I had already moved, I took April and May to finish moving. Do I have to pay for June rent?

If the landlord has made an effort to find a tenant and has not let the place after you moved out and turned keys in, you are still liable per the lease. However, if they were able to re-rent the residence they cannot double dip and must release you from the portion of rent they are collecting from another party.
