How do you review a landfill...lol. They weren't busy at all so I got in and out quickly. It was as clean and orderly as a landfill could be. Overall a great experience for a place full of trash. Lol

Make sure you have four wheel drive if you have a large drop off. Because the mud and steep road will require it! Prices are fair and there is an oil deposit regular recycling spot and trash spot. There’s not much to it but the bulk trash site is Wild West if you aren’t a big truck or if you haven’t been there before.

The hours are literally trash.

You can buy a permit for $15 I think. Otherwise they weigh your load and charge you by the ton.
Yes, but you do have to go across the scales and pay for the weight. You will also be required to take them to the Pit directly and not in the scaled load boxes on the lot. Make sure you are on the scales before 3pm. We will be closed on Monday, February 15th. Thank you!
You can,but would have to go across the scales and pay.
Yes, just go through the scale line and tell them what you have. $10 minimum fee collected at the scale.
You can add dirt or cat litter to the paint leave the lid off let the paint get hard and they will take it or just leave the lid off till it gets hard
Yes
We are not allowed to accept any liquid material of any kind. It must be dried out before coming to the Landfill. At that point you will have to go across the scales and pay at least the $10 minimum. You must be on the scales BEFORE 3pm.
Yes. You will have to go across the scales first and pay for your materials. We have a $10 minimum fee which, for this type of material, will allow you up to 260 pounds. We accept cash or check and you must be on the scales before 3:00PM
No, it is not. There is a nominal fee of $10 if you are under a certain weight.
We take Televisions but you must go across the scales and pay to get rid of them. There is a $10 minimum and you must be on the scales before 3!! Take your first right after the bridge to get to the scale house.
You can place them in a plastic container with a lid (like a peanut or coffee container), then put the lid back on and wrap duct tape around the lid to ensure the lid doesn't come off. If you have a trash permit you can then bring them to one of our facilities and dump as you do your normal household trash. If you have a company that picks up your trash via curbside, please contact them first to see if they will allow those in the trash. Thank you.
Yes you can, there may be be a minimal fee when you cross the scales.
We do accept them but they aren't acceptable in your normal curbside pickup program. You can bring your microwave to the 40 West Landfill any day that we are open, between the hours of 7am and 2:30pm. You will need to go across our scales and pay for the item (s). There is a $10 minimum which allows up to 360 pounds of normal household trash so if you have some furniture or other items, you could bring them up at that time. The folks at the scale house will direct you from there for disposal. Thank you!
These items are considered "Rubble" and are not covered under any permit. You will have to go across the scales with this material when you come in to the 40 West Landfill. There is a $10 minimum that covers up to 260 pounds. If you're load weighs more than that, it will be prorated based on $75 per ton.
Hello, yes, we do take construction debris as long as there are no hazardous wastes involved and we don't take any Asbestos materials. There is a $10 minimum charge, which covers you up to 260 pounds. If you are over the 260 pounds you will need to weigh in and weigh out and you will be charged on the net weight at a rate of $75 per ton. You will have to go across the scales every time you come in and we accept cash, check, or credit card. Make sure you are on the scales BEFORE 3pm and you must be on the outbound scales no later than 3:15. Also, with any construction debris and any large items, be prepared to take your items to the Landfill, not the boxes.
Yes. There is a $5 fee for anything that has Freon in it. This includes, air conditioners, refrigerators, and dehumidifiers. Thank you!
You, are able to recycle at the landfill. Just make sure you dump in the correct bin (and have a permit)

Washington County Treasurer. Yes, we can stamp your check.
Yes they accept all TVs
Ye1a, you just need proof you live in Washington County
No, they can only accept trash from Washington County.
Yes
You have to be able to prove that the trash is coming from Washington County. A valid driver's license with a Washington County address is acceptable. Just a Maryland driver's license will not be accepted. We are only able to accept trash from Washington County!
Permits only cover household trash. Basically what can fit in a trash bag, if you are dropping of household trash you do not need to go across the scales. Permits are good until July 1.
Yard debris permits are $20 if you purchase a trash permit at the same time, only! Otherwise, the yard debris permits are $25. ALL permits are valid from July 1 to June 30th. You must have new permits by July 1 each year. Permits stop being sold in April and the new permits go on sale in June. You must have a Maryland driver's license and valid registration to show the person working at the permit building. Also, both of these documents MUST match to a Washington County address.
Go to the scale house at the dump they will send you to a different spot
$3 each up to five tires, more that 5, you need a temporary haulers license and the price is $160/ton.
You can recycle your televisions and other electronics at the Landfill. However, you MUST go across the scales and pay to dispose of them. The trash permits only cover the trash from your trash cans inside your house. They do not cover large items such as electronics. There is a $10 minimum fee which covers you up to 360 pounds. You must be on the scales before 3PM and we accept cash or check only.
