Leave with less moola and sore vocal cords. Background noise made conversations inaudible. The interior echoed and the music incredibly loud. Unfortunately outdoor sitting was closed. Sat by the bar and was greeted by a sticky surface. Service was bare minimum for $16++ for a cocktail. The staff who didn't work the bar seem to be having their own party. While the bar looked short staffed. Quick note, the TLDR for the menu is the contents page of the booklet. As for the drinks, they were not anything to write home about. Taste was lost in being pretentious. Entered with a blank slate, not knowing about it's past awards i.e. mentions on Eater. We ended up here because it was a nearby option. Glad I didn't walk in with high expectations.

This is a great place for cocktails. We went there just before it started getting crowded and were lucky to find a great spot by the bar. Everyone working here is so nice. We tried a couple of cocktails and loved each one of them. But, The optimist was our favourite

This review is for cocktails only. There are may craft cocktail bars in SF you can go to. This is one of them. Located near the edge of the mission, this small yet mighty speakeasy packs an impressive punch with a nice line up of drinks you can choose from. There is seating outside, and on the bottom floor. They do have an upper level, typically open on weekends. The inside is dark, just like it should be and it can get noisy, yet with all that we went through these that’s two years, you want that. That noise is other people having a good time enjoying their drinks, just like you will. Note: the bathrooms are share between Trick Dog and Penny Roma, and if the kitchen closes you can go next door, get dessert and bring it back.

Interesting place for cocktails. It was part of best 50 bars in 2019. They still make very tasty and great cocktails. I liked the one with mezcal and the one with vodka

It's a bar so first come first serve. You can try to call ahead but I doubt you'll get a table reserved unless you have a large party.
