Referred to Primary Gastroenterology for HX of abdominal issues since birth. Feeding issues and rashes related to eating. We were told by our primary doctor U of U would run tests, have us see a nutritionist and help him. The first thing the resident spoke to us about was someone had reported that he had a choking problem, and when we said he did not, they responded with , he should not have been rush to the front of the line then. He was not push in front. I had already had 2 calls with scheduling and stated he did not have that issue and we can wait to be seen and waited for what the available appointment was. HX - my 2 year old was a premie, was in the NICU for 29 days. He has struggled with abdominal cramping, vomiting, rashes from day one. We have only been able to identify that he is lactose intolerant, and rashes are eczema associated with food intake. Every couple of months, he eats less and less. To the point of needing occupational therapy. The days leading up to the appointment and day of he was having an episode, full blown rash, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. The resident did not attempt to ease my toddler into a physical exam. Just started to touch him. My son refused to cooperate and the resident seemed very annoyed. He is 2, he is not feeling well. He is suppose to be specializing in pediatrics. They did not run any tests, labs, we did not speak to a nutritionist, just resident and attending physician. Refused to look at HX of photos of the rashes and food log for the past 2 years. Diagnosed my son with constipation and picky eater. Instructed us to give him laxatives and do a flush out. To stop occupational therapy and lastly, do not give him milk until he sits down and eats dinner. My pediatrician was astonished. He has always done a physical exam, never felt he was constipated, that they ran no tests, etc. So here we are with no answers, spent the money driving to U of U, stayed in a hotel and spent the money for the doctor to not help us.

You can go to the website, call, or if you're in the area, just talk to the front desk. Also ask about donating to the Ronald McDonald House there: they provide relief for families of patients, and room and board to out-of-town families of patients. The McD House is mainly sustained through pop can tab donations!
Give him help don't waste any time those thoughts and actions are very serious for a ten-year-old especially primary childrens will definitely help you don't hesitate!
There is a card that you can add money to, the parents/relatives can then use it in the cafeteria. I have only done this in person though.
Donate through a blood donation service. You vent donate to a specific person.
Go into the records office on the top floor, just have to sign for them. Or call them and tell them you need them, they may be able to mail or email them to you. I had to get my daughters from 5 years ago.
This hospital has a level three NICU, the only one for many miles around. This means that Primary's can provide specialized care that most other hospitals in the country cannot provide. Children and infants with very serious medical conditions are even flown here from other states!
9am is going to be ok!
If you are worried about abuse it would be safe and healthy families. If it's about his private parts it would be urology
Good question I don't know but there's Ronald McDonald House
They would love it.
Good question. All I can say is call them and ask.
That's a tricky question .... You have to call and ask them cause they don't allow you straight into shadowing .... You have to go through a proper channel submitting all your dox and security check with a proper hospital ID at the time of shadowing! Else you can contact a professor directly through email which you can find on their website
Yes, when I have brought donations they take them right at the front for me.
Only if they are registered service animal! I had to take my daughter out the front doors to see her dogs, as she was there threw Dec.
Yes but baby would be delivered at University of Utah hospital and then transferred to PCH. All doctors at the hospital are UofU doctors. PHC is owned by IHC (Intermountain Health Care).
The university guest house is great for short visits or if you need to be at the hospital early in the morning. If you have longer stays I'd definitely recommend the Ronald McDonald house. We've used both.
Call their number listed on Google maps. The front desk has security guards, they will know what to do. Keep in mind that the hospital gets false bomb scares every year, so they are justifiably concerned with security and drones nearby. Maybe rethink your plans?
I think that anyone who works there cannot answer that question by law. I certainly hope she is doing well though.
What is the question? What pediatrician? Your appointment on May 8th?
Having a child who has been there, I think any blanket that is cozy would be greatly appreciated :)
My 2 years old son has eczema and i need a good doctor ...does anyone know whats the adress
