The system is broken and i have not found one person in the decision making position who is willing to fix it. I am a veteran I've been retired since August 1, 1991 i am 70% disable with Bilateral knee degenerated arthritis condition i have been wearing bilateral metal brace since my retirement, the orthopedic and my primary doctor sent me to the prosthetic clinic to be fitted for the metal brace and the prosthetic clinic order the metal brace from an outside company, i also was fitted for a soft wrap around brace, that i wear when lying down. i have been wearing these brace for the pass twenty years, all of this information is in my medical records and on the prosthetic clinic computer, and that i am service connected for this disability. last year September 24, 2020 i went to the prosthetic clinic here in Philadelphia Pa, on 3900 block of Woodland av. to have my metal brace adjusted and fitted to my leg and knee because of wear and tear and use, this year i was deny my clothing allowance because i was issue a new pair of soft brace by the therapist at the prosthetic clinic (Mr. Ronald Upshur ) doing my visit. i ask the Chief of Prosthetic why ? was i deny, he informed me he did not make the decision to deny my clothing allowance. so i ask him to look at my record or file and did he see, that his office order the metal brace in year 2012 and did he see that my brace had been repair and adjusted to my knee last year 2020. Mr. Bud Johnson the chief of prosthetic told me he could see all that, but he could not help me and that i would have to put an appeal in through his office to be sent to the Board of Veteran Appeal. again i ask him why? This is wast of money and time by the system. the hospital, and VHA Veteran health Administration, has all of this information about my metal brace so why is it necessary to force the veteran to write a appeal about information you already have. i thought the hole process was to take care of the Veteran, not to create havoc and harassment. I ask to speak to the Patient advocate, the asst director office, the director office, the chief of staff, and the VHA call center, no help everybody felt that i should put the appeal in, so i put the appeal in through the prosthetic clinic four weeks later i ask Mr. Bud Johnson about my appeal because i have not heard anything, he told me that once he turn the appeal in he wish his hands of it, so how do i know that he turn it in no-one has contacted me. so this is how you take care of the veteran i am still looking for my clothing allowance benefits and i don't have a reason why i was deny for having soft brace, when i wear both soft and metal brace. my claim number is 26566607

Hi James Williams, you may request for a copy of your DD-214 through the National Archives. Go to archives.gov/veterans

How many properties can a 100% disabled wife own legally?
No
Yes but I'm uncertain of the time that the two of you have to be married prior to his death. I believe the time is ten years and also you have to remain a widow at the time of purchasing your home. I relaying this information based off what my friend's widow told me. For best information you should contact a real estate agent.
I am a Veterans Service Representative. If you experienced any injuries while serving in the Military you could apply for benefits as long as you meet service requirements. My suggestion, apply at local VA Hospital
Can you clarify your question
Not that I'm aware of . I worked at the VA regional office 8n Germanton ,Pa. Mostly Insureance and Death Benifits.
Unfortunately no, not through the VA
No. The VA medical center is where you need to go
You can also go to VA.gov to obtain information on applying for a Veterans ID Card.
You can walk in...no appointment needed
Complete VA form 24-0296 and submit to it to the VA
We have a Public contact center. You can come in from 8am - 4:30pm for help to fill out paperwork. No appointment needed.
The municipality where the property is located will have it at the city or town clerk's office.
Compensation for Surviving Spouse and Dependents (VA DIC) https://www.va.gov/burials-memorials/dependency-indemnity-compensation/
Check the DOT website for your state for Veterans/disabled persons/disabled Veterans.
Many condolences, and thank you for his service. VA benefits are not taxable at local, state, nor Federal levels, and VA does not issue 1099 forms for that reason. If he was receiving military retired pay, you can contact DFAS for a 1099R.
You can visit the Public Contact Desk. They're open 8:30am to 4:30pm EST. They'll help you with your request.
The Public Contact desk. A security guard at the front door will direct you.
Yes you do not need an appointment. Just make sure you bring ID and military papers as well as copy of death certificate if those docs have not already been submitted.
Yes
You should either stop by the office or contact a service organization like American Legion
No. Just walk in or you can do it online, eBenefits.va.gov.
You've asked Google Maps about a Benefit Office. You will likely have better results asking VA directly at https://iris.custhelp.va.gov/app/ask
Will l get pension benefits from .my Husband?
It varies on the VA office. It is usually acceptable to use a social in lieu of a file number as each office usually can look up a file number with an SSN.
Yes
Just come in, answer a few questions so that they can properly identify you, and you can get a letter. Feel free to bring your Drivers License or DD 214 if you wish but it's not required.
You need to log into ebenefits, find out yer status or/also get a DAV rep to make contact with regional and get update/current status....
Only beni would be burial funds nothing else is transferable that I'm aware of. Contact a VA regional office in your area for more info
You can access Ebenefits or vets.gov. Ebenefits has a letter option where you can generate the letter with your percentage and monthly benefit rate.
Hi Terry Johnson, if you need to visit our office (Regional Benefit Office), you do not need an appointment. If you need to make an appointment for health care, you can visit our website to view the different ways to make an appointment at va.gov/health/appointments.asp
They might have information regarding a free legal clinic, but the VA doesn't offer legal advice directly.
Hi Michael Williams, are you looking to get a copy of your DD-214? If so, you can request one through the National Archives at archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records
Hi Sue, you can update your address on eBenefits. Log in and update your information at www . ebenefits.va.gov
He can contact the military online, he can call the VA (if they already have a copy), or if he registered a copy with the county he can get a copy from them.
Hi Alivn Brown, GI Bill is used only to obtain training and education and cannot be used to purchase a home. You can request for VA home loans instead. See if you are eligible for VA home loans program at benefits.va.gov/HOMELOANS/purchaseco_eligibility.asp
The office is open except for the 10 federal holidays a year.
Yes. I would come in and at security ask for directions to either Public Contact or the Veteran Service Organization you prefer.
As of November 2017, yes. There will be an online application that is set to go live shortly.
Probably not, but if DFAS and the VA aren't aware they're both paying you it can cause a problem. So i would verify with DFAS that they're in communication with the VA.
Call the VA or just come in and talk to someone at Public Contact. You don't have to go through the organization if you're having a hard time getting an appointment.
If you come to the public contact desk at the regional office they will be able to tell you about the next job fairs. Also the vocational rehab department focuses on this more directly if you qualify.
