I bring employees to DOPL every month to get them licensed for their profession. The staff at DOPL are efficient and polite. I appreciate how fast I am in and out of the building.

This departments states that they protect the consumer is a very false statement, they protect the con artist contractor over us as the consumer, when the state even finally revoked the lic. of this so called contractor this department still took the final lies of the contractor over shown prof, plus lead us on for months to send more and more prof which we did by stating "we just need this" and in the end it cost us more money cause it went on and on. And when we ask for our original paper work back they have the nerve to tell us there is a charge of 30 cents per page! This has been a horrible experience. This department is not on the side of the consumer at ALL!

Very rude. Very snippy. Wasn’t willing to look into my concern.

Had an appt and was 15 min early. Got someone who couldn’t answer any questions. Took over 30 min to get help. Then they took 2 people back prior to my appt. Awful process

You just have to go to the dopl website and re apply. But it will matter how long you havent been working.
It depends on the type of license. Best to call and ask for the group that works with your license type. Most other states want a licence verification. For all licences except nurses, it's a $20 fee.

Licenses are no longer mailed, only emailed. If you did not receive one via email call and make sure they have your correct email address. Then they will email one right out to you.

I have gone many years without working as well. Stay at home mom. As long as it hasn't lapsed, all you need to do is keep up with your fees. Go on to the Board website and it will give you an option. You can sign up for Breeze which is an easy way to pay your fees online and renew your license excetra. If you would like to keep it active, meaning you would like to be able to work, you will need to also include 30 units of CEUs. If you don't think you'll be able to get your CEUs done before it's time to renew, then just pay your fee and you'll be inactive. To make it active again you'll just need to submit your CEUs to the board. It will take about two weeks for them to update it to an active status again.
File a complaint online through DOPL

North side of the building has metered parking on the street and a parking pay garage across the street to the north as well.
Contact your profession at DOPL and ask them what you would need to do to be eligible to re-apply. Some of the factors they may consider in issuing a new license are; what the violation/s was, likely hood of re-offense, legal issues that may involve your case, persons affected, rehabilated efforts, how long ago violation occurred, references and personal statement eg. Good luck John.
