Roaches and bed bugs and they won't it's hard to cook for family because people don't let others use kitchen also the staff treats the Latinos like they don't have to follow the rules like no using kitchen after 8 pm but if you are latin you can do whatever you want also becareful the staff are also very nosey and they like to put their nose where it don't belong and they will call cps on you for the smallest things such as they called on my friend for going and smoking a cigarette and her daughter was not even 5 feet away in her stroller sleeping Also if you are a couple becareful they will find ways of making you fight and one has to leave.

Don't rely on these people to help you find permanent housing. They do not have access to too many resources here and time is limited, case managers are not properly trained or have not gained the life experience which would be beneficial towards their work experience. Structured learning in a classroom through lectures and text books is not the only way to learn and I definitely wouldn't consider it the best. The staff here also has extremely poor communication. Staff will always look out for themselves above all, so no matter how it has been received or documented, they will somehow find a way to place blame on you. They claim to be here to help but they constantly add stress to your already stressful situation. No empathy for the client at all

Volunteered to help with a Sunday breakfast. The volunteers, staff & clients are all very friendly. The setup is amazing - I need to learn more about the program - but the little I've seen amazed me. This is not a 'free handout' as the clients are assigned chores to help with daily maintenance - a great way to give back and ensure upkeep without the luxury of paid staff. The play area for the kids is monitored and secured and the overall grounds are maintained well.

What did you end up doing for those two weeks? Though you (likely) don't need a reply now, others may benefit from any information you or others can provide. Unfortunately I don't think any San Mateo County shelters allow dogs. However, the San Francisco Navigation Centers DO. It would be great if current and formerly unhoused people as well as the general public would advocate for those who do have dogs to be sheltered at least at one or two in San Mateo County. Does anyone know where to start a petition, for example?
