Everything you didn’t know that you needed for your home… and even some things you do!

Went with the family and we all found something we loved! Awesome place to get things or to get ideas. The staff was awesome. We probably spent 3 hours looking around, and I know we didn’t see everything. Definitely recommend!

If you are in the area. STOP BY! Great place to spend an hour (or 4) browsing all of their cool items that change every day. Ask to go to their remote warehouse as well. Every turn is a surprise. If you are renovation a home, looking for something special for your home, this is THE place to find it. Thank you Folks for a great shop

Chris we lived in Halkirk Scotland while my husband was station at the naval communication base in Thurso Scotland. We found that streaming programs was the answer to the dilemma of poor choice of telly shows locally. We were able to order all supplies that the iron monger or what's it shops did not carry for our DYI projects. It was such a joy to travel to Black Dog Salvage after returning to US soil. Good luck
Hi Kelly, No we do not do repair work. We are an architectural salvage company and retail store. Thanks!
Depends on the type of wood you're looking for. Home Depot or Lowe's, Amazon, and so on.
Awesome .like a museum..Great Woodworking shop !!
I did see someone else with a dog there
IN WAL-MART THEY HAVE ALL GAME BALL HATS AN CAPS or Dickies Store here sale all game supply
You should request that they provide one. They are a salvage business and come across used items that still are very functional all the time.
I was there about a month ago and see here. Sally is slowing down but still doing great, plus the younger pup keeps her on her toes
They are very knowledgeable about what they salvage and you could call and ask. If they don't know they may know someone who does. I have met Ted and Grayson and they are great people.
Hi Dennis - thanks for planning a visit! Yes, there is room to park on Midvale Avenue, behind our building.
They may return it after COVID is done. Places are just now opening back up.
Call the store
Hi Tambrea, thanks for writing, we're glad you enjoy the show! Each salvage job is different. We take into account costs and market value and do our best to keep the cost below the resale value! Take care.
Hulu and Youtube premium. You can also find some full episodes on youtube.
Hopefully you get an answer from them their stock changes all the time
I think a max of 4 hours would be plenty. But you can see most of it in like 2.
Yes
I love black cats and black dogs and I don't know when the amphitheater will open, lol.
Hi Cindy, No, Mike and Robert are not related. Of the Dawgs, only Mike and Tay are related - Mike is Tay's father. Thanks!
Hi Ron, It depends on the job, but every salvage is coordinated and agreed upon with the current owner(s) of the property. Thanks for asking!
Hi Lisa, Unfortunately, that piece has been sold, but feel free to contact our Custom Design Team for information about customizing something similar for you: https://www.blackdogsalvage.com/custom-design/ Thanks!
Hi Pati, If you're unable to visit us in Roanoke, you can purchase a hat from our online store here: http://bit.ly/2IfDu4J We ship all over! Thanks!
Thanks for the question, Sherry! We're not currently in need of additional crew, but you are welcome to check out our employment page to see if/when we are hiring: http://bit.ly/2HT21fn Thanks!
I believe they only sell their paint
Hi Arpy, We have used doors to make headboards, tables, storage compartments, room dividers, and more - the possibilities are endless! If you would like our help with this, you can contact our design team at 540-525-2455. Thanks!
Hi, Yes, it is available for purchase! This bar retails for $2,599.99, and you can learn more about it here in our online store: http://bit.ly/2ViwUgd - Please give us a call at (540)343-6200 and let us know how we can help further. Thanks!
Hi Maureen, If you are referring to removing paint from old hinges, you can try boiling them in water, transferring to cold (ice not required, we are looking for expansion and contraction to break the bond of paint), brush or scrub with very light abrasive. Repeat as necessary, polish if required. Thanks!
Hi Margaret, Yes, we are still on TV. "Salvage Dawgs", the show featuring our Black Dog Salvage Crew, airs on the DIY Network. Our Crew is currently filming our 10th Season, and new episodes are slated to premiere this Spring on the DIY Network. Episodes also rerun on GAC and are available for download on Amazon, iTunes, and YouTube. Thanks!
They may, lots of that type hardware, just go by and look if close.
Hi Carol, That's a great question. Here is what our shop manager had to say: First, We use a drill bit specific for glass and a water-based lubricant to squirt as we drill into the insulators. We also use a special machine made to apply the right amount of pressure and is variable speed. If you are looking to try it yourself, you can pick up a cheap drill press to achieve the same results. The holes should only be drilled using a fixed-base drill. Never use a hand operated drill as it will not center and will walk all over your glass. Hope this helps. Thanks!
I did the same with brass door knobs... Boiling water removes the paint, but I found that boiling white vinegar and a toothbrush works well for rust and tarnish....
Hi B.J., Here are our holiday hours: Christmas Eve (12/24) 9am - 2pm Christmas Day (12/25) CLOSED New Year's Eve (12/31) 9am - 2pm New Year's Day (1/1) CLOSED Thanks!
Call and talk with their personal. Only they can help with that question
This is a sight answered by common people trying to help other common people who have a question. The businesses have no control over this area. We are the community, not a review site. If you want to know how I was treated while I was shopping there? The answer is GREAT. If you want to know about their merchandise? FANTASTIC. Do yourself a favor and visit their store so you can formulate your own opinion.
Hi Brian, Our crew wears required safety equipment for working in demolition conditions. Thanks for the question!
There is a park in back i parked in the parking lot there no one bothered me. 32ft class c
There are a few hotels downtown within 3 miles. If you are looking for a place to stay that you can walk from, there are none.
Check their web site. The best way to know for certain is to call them.
Check eBay, especially in the sold items. That would give you a place to start. Call Black Dog and ask them if they would do an appraisal, but start with eBay.
I would have it appraised as is first because it may be more valuable in its present state if you are going for the original antique.
Your best bet is to call or stop into Black Dog with one of the blocks and ask them directly. This is a third party review service and usually not monitored by the individual businesses.
Have no idea about the farm but Black Dog Salvage has an assortment of canned goods.
You can also check their website, but calling or visiting the store is the best option.
This is not even a third party review service. Google Questions is where people can connect with people and get questions answered about a place. Questions that can only be answered by experience. Questions like "how long should it take go through the **** museum with two eight year olds?". The museum itself really can't answer that, only people who have been there and done that.
You'll need to call the store and ask them Josh. This site is for reviews and not part of Black Dog.
These questions probably aren't monitored by Black Dog Salvage. Your best best is to call them directly.
Hey Clyde. This is a consumer review driven service. Retailers like Black Dog don't monitor the feedback here and none of us works for them directly. With product specific questions like that, it's best to call them directly or visit their shop to get a useful answer. Good luck!
Call them and ask
Call them and ask. Even better, taken some pictures and email them.
Call BDS, or email, and ask them specifically about your project.
