Chris we lived in Halkirk Scotland while my husband was station at the naval communication base in Thurso Scotland. We found that streaming programs was the answer to the dilemma of poor choice of telly shows locally. We were able to order all supplies that the iron monger or what's it shops did not carry for our DYI projects. It was such a joy to travel to Black Dog Salvage after returning to US soil. Good luck
DIY Network isn't available in the UK. I believe some DIY Discovery Programs are shown on the Shed Channel (https://www.discoveryuk.com/channels/) but your best bet is to find Salvage Dawgs through online streaming services - Amazon Prime Video, Youtube, Hulu, etc
