I am probably one of the most meticulous and neurotic people out there. I am routinely told that I am stubbornly passionate about getting things exactly as I want them. I came into New Gild with a vision and a challenge. I asked Jen to create something for me that to my knowledge has never been done before. She did not disappoint. We went back and forth making sure to give me her knowledge as a professional in designing the engagement ring for my wife. While also being able to treat me with respect when I rejected many rings she brought to my attention. Always striving to work within my budget, she was able to make my dreams a reality. So much so that when it came to the bands I knew that she was the only one who would do them justice. From now until the end of time I will always have my jewelry crafted here. So much talent and professionalism you rarely see.

This is an absolutely wonderful establishment in downtown Linden Hills. Jen and the team at New Gild are creative, gracious, highly responsive, and wonderful to work with and we've had two great experiences there. Their pieces are one of a kind and they are known for working with you to co-create something special. They also support the local community. Highly recommend!

The energy and sparkle is palpable when you walk into New Gild on the cozy corner at 43rd and Upton in Linden Hills. New Gild has a joyful Santa's Workshop feel to it as co-owners, Jenifer and designer/master jeweler Kelsey, and several 'elves' are busily working their craft. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

I'll answer a couple of your questions in one post this time--we do appraise jewelry! Depending upon the value of the piece or your willingness to spend money, we can offer a free in-store approximation of a piece's authenticity and value, or we can send it out to our highly-qualified appraisal partner for $90. Any piece we create can be sized for free within the first year of its purchase, cleaned for free forever, and repaired if there is a structural flaw in its crafting. Regular wear and tear are not typically covered, however. Additionally, while art is not returnable, we want everyone who engages with the New Gild brand to love what they take home, because after all, love is what we do best. If there's an issue with a piece, we will work on a case-by-case basis to arrive at the best outcome for our customers. We do repair jewelry as well as watches and can restring pearl necklaces, too! We do not typically buy jewelry for resale. Please feel free to email us with more questions.
During the first year that you are wearing your piece, we assume anything that goes wrong in the absense of a specific accident is our job, and we help you fix it. after that, we offer expert jewelry repair services, sizing and other modifications at competitive prices.
Like most art, our custom jewlery gallery items are nonreturnable unless a "gift" exception is explicitly made at the point of sale.
We seldom buy finished pieces, but we're happy to consider trade and/or reuse on your pieces when we're making you something new. give us a call and let's talk about it!
We certainly do! We can fix nearly everything, from your tangled or broken chains, your broken earrings, replace diamonds that have fallen out, even make that ring that was run over by a veichle look like new again,
We can. Repairing costume jewelry requires a laser welder, an amazing piece of equipment that allows us to heat up an area on a piece of jewelry smaller than a millimeter in size. Laser welding is expensive, and it's an unfortunate irony that our lease expensive pieces cost the most to repair. But, if they mean a great deal to you, they're worth fixing - and we can do that!
We sure can. We have an expert pearl stringer in minneapolis with decades of experience, and she does a wonderful job for us. Pearls can be cleaned, clasps replaced, whatever needs to be done to get them back on your neck. Turnaround time is only about a week - bring them in!
We get our metals from suppliers who guarantee the use of 100% recycled metals. We also get our metals from YOU-we will reuse your metals wherever we can, so that the past is preserved in your new piece. It's good for the earth, it feels good and it's just the right thing to do.
Yes, we will! If you have a previously-purchased or inherited stone, we're happy to include that in your design, which can greatly reduce your cost and free up budget for the best metals and fully-custom designs.
While the exact history of every single gemstone available can be difficult to verify and guarantee, certain processes exist (like the Kimberly process) to eliminate the introduction of new conflict diamonds from entering the mainstream market, which we proudly support. Beyond the use of conflict-free diamonds, New Gild also works to source the most sustainable options available, reducing the environmental impact of our business on the world and ensuring that your finished product aligns with your personal and our business values.
Hi Chris! Absolutely we can. We're proficient in creating wedding and engagement sets regardless of what stone(s) or lack of stones they feature. We will leverage our expert gemstone know-how to help guide you towards a stone that can withstand the test of time, but ultimately, what you choose is up to you.
