Extremely pleasant and helpful people, in my experience.

My first time to visit in person. I was able to be seen a timely manner when I arrived. I worked with Johnathan who was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He took is time and explained everything in a precise manner.

They absolutely have zero desire to provide any information you request. I submitted my documentation for protest prior to the hearing and while I’ve upheld my end of protesting and going to their office and being on time to my review board investing hours into this. They made sure I was not allowed my five minutes for protest during the hearing. Incredibly unethical. I’ll be filing an appeal and possibly more.

Customer service at the TAD both times I went was great. I wish they would take down those plexiglass partitions because man it's hard to hear them through the clear wall, but everyone I interacted with prior to the formal hearing with was friendly and eager to help. It is in your and your neighbors' best interests to protest your assessed value EVERY SINGLE YEAR, and the online and informal hearing processes make this a relatively simple task to at least attempt. Now, the formal hearing. First of all, you can disregard your hearing time. There's the appearance of punctuality because you're assigned a VERY specific appointment (e.g. 2:08pm), but in actuality they have a 2 hour window in which to hear your case and they WILL use it. Prepare to wait! Now, about that formal hearing. The representative from the review board (basically, the judge), was courteous, respectful, and clear. The representative from the appraisal district was curt and at times condescending. Representatives arguing on the side of TAD need to understand that resident homeowners may be new to this process. We are not professionals! The purpose of the hearing should not be solely to defeat the homeowner, but also to educate. There is way to be both right AND kind. Disgruntled property owners: your assessed value is irrelevant if the taxing entities adjust the tax rate down to remain revenue neutral. Yes, protest your assessed value, but also, get out there and VOTE!

In short answer yes, but it depends on the exemption. Most accounts typically won't have multiple exemptions. For instance, a charitable exemption would exempt you from all tax liability. There would be no need any further exemptions... But you may be a small company that's eligible for Freeport exemption (if you ship products out of state) and may have a personal use vehicle exemption (vehicle used for business and personal)
