I usually pay around $100-110 that's plus tax. But that's because I put the vehicle sale price around $1000 or lower. It usually works on older vehicled but for newer ones they check how much the resale value is. When you register and buy temp plates it's legal to drive that vehicle for 15 days. After the 15 days are up you can renew them for $6. You can only renew them twice but for the third time you need to show proof that it won't pass emissions and/or safety.

We got in relatively quickly. We scheduled for 8:30 am. The whole process for us was approximately an hour. My recommendation is to arrive before your scheduled appointment with all needed documentation. If you're on time, that helps them and others to follow. That's me though. I did see people who were late for their appointment, and they still let them go as they got to them; however, I'm one of those that if you can't be there on time, please reschedule. Plan your route and time frame, also plan for hiccups, for instance construction, traffic incidents, or even a flat tire. It's always better to arrive earlier than late.

Check to make sure they called it into the police when they towed it. Get the street check number to prove it. Then call the police and check when they called it in. If it was called in after you reported it stolen then the police messed up and they should pay for it. Also the towing company should have send certified letters to the owners after 3 business days to notify them.
